Six months ago the bloke was "dead man walking". Now we're all lauding the fact that he's signing a new contract. Never let it be said that fans (of all clubs) aren't the most fickle of individuals.
Six months ago, the football was shite, as we're the results, crowds were plummeting and we were looking over our shoulder for a relegation fight.

    Nothing fickle at all.

And like been saying it was all ridiculous rubbish he was never going …
    Isn't hindsight a wonderful gift...

Ronnie was the lone voice in calling it bollocks - wasn't he?
Yes, but I did call it nonsense as I'm not as uncouth as some 😉

I used the word 'nonsense' also - one of the few occasions where I moderated my language!

The Cardiff message board is full of very salty 'never wanted him anyway, hope they get relegated' comments which is very satisfying!
I saw that. Very salty. They are saying we are mad to offer 5 years and we deserve what we get

Getting five years for a good six months is excellent work by Jones’ agent!

Turned the club around, good move by those in charge. Some real stability now, it was needed by Charlton and Jones. Now to kick on next season.

Think that’s a bit harsh. Admittedly things weren’t great on the pitch for a long period but, as they same,  Rome wasn’t built in a day.  A lot stuff happened off the pitch that Jones would have been heavily involved in.

It wasn’t particularly good under Curbishley for a while and look what happened there. Even Fergie took 4 years to get things right at Man Utd.

Not only has he turned it around on the pitch but he’s also been the catalyst for the genuinely renewed optimism and vigour in the stands as well. We have to go back to Lee Bowyer when we last got so behind the team but even then we had the backdrop of dire ownership. This feels very different.

There will be clauses in the contract so I'd not expect us to get clobbered too heavily if we were to sack him.

I feel more connected to the team and players than at any time since Chris Powell. Never could warm to Bowyer I'm afraid.

Oof, blaspheme. I loved early Bowyer (Marcus Maddison Bowyer was…less loveable)

Fair enough. For me, he has always been one of my favourites from player to manager.
