Six months ago the bloke was "dead man walking". Now we're all lauding the fact that he's signing a new contract. Never let it be said that fans (of all clubs) aren't the most fickle of individuals.
Six months ago nobody knew what our best line up looked like. We did, however, know what various combinations of players didn’t work though. And we knew the bottom of the table was a lot closer than a play off place.

Then all of a sudden we did know what our best line up looked like and it was playing every week.

    the rest is history.

Good on the club for getting it done. Nice to be a somewhat normal football team again!

well played the board and owners.....only guessing here, but he must have some decent guarantees to have signed that sort of contract

Five years is an awful long time in football. Having said that it shows that the owners and Jones see the project clearly as one that’s going to progress year on year.

I'm hoping to join Charton on a 5 year contract, because I'm a boyhood fan 😎

5 year deal is one hell of a statement from the ownership.

He'll be negotiating again in 12 months once we've won at Wembley again.

Great news. Hopefully a hefty release clause in there. I wonder if there’s any other getouts for us too. This is where American owners will benefit us. It’s one of many things American sports get right, the contracts and timing of them.
