I'm spending the night on top of Shooters Hill, next to the Water Tower, with my pea shooter, torch, thermos flask and water pistol in case any of those dreadful people decide to come south of the river. SHG you're welcome to join me. And, rest assured, if any of them go near the Valley I'll be calling out the heavy mob, Rick Everett, Colin Cameron, Kevin Nolan and Steve Sutherland to name a few.
No wonder Oggy moved to Cornwall!
Sorry but I will be out hoping to pick up a new HD tv for peanuts if you know what I mean innit.
I fancy a new telly. Anyone fancy coming down to Bexleyheath with me and smashing up a few shops?
PS. I'm a disenchanted yoof, init blud.
You'll have to be quick They've totally smashed up Lewisham so it looks like a third world war zone right now....oh hang on...wait...no, it always looks like a third world war zone..

Several daft points made by Shine. I can't be bothered to deal with all of them but the idea that the police could shoot someone in the legs is risible. He has been watching too many movies. Police are trained that if they have reached the point where they must fire then they must ensure (as far as possible) that they stop the individual. And to do that they have to shoot at the central body mass. In a dynamic tense situation there is still no guarantee of hitting even with the intense training the firearms officers have to undertake.
In an earlier post at 10.05 Shine wrote 'The Bristol one you all mention is corupt too. The police supposedly let the guy who they arrested, walk around the house and go make a brew, at which point, he stabbed himself through the heart ? Im sorry, but something doesnt add up.'In a later post he wrote 'I dont believe anything, thats what inquests are for.' Well the 'Bristol' matter was in fact in Surrey (great research Shine) and there will indeed be an inquest: http://www.ipcc.gov.uk/news/Pages/pr_290711_davidemanuelupdate.aspx.
Still why let the evidence get in the way of your prejudice?
What evidence am I looking at ? I have no prejudice and im not sure where ive shown that, just find it hard that some who has been detained is allowed to walk around the house on his own.
About 400 youth just run through the town smashing all the shops and nicking everything , no old bill in site , until 1 car ploughed into the middle of them , the cop car got smashed the cozzers ran past me on the radio calling for back up ,
shine166 - just wondered if the jury in your relatives trial were all corrupt and bought by the Police or did they weigh up the evidence and decide your relative was indeed guilty. Plus I suppose all his previous was a fit up too. In truth he is an upstanding member of the community.
There's a picture of a 11 year old boy getting cuffed by police in Enfield for trying to start a riot.
I haven't read the comments in this thread because I am still knackered from an 8 hour drive from Cornwall to the Valley so what I say may have already cropped up.
In The Sun the other day.. they reported that the bloke shot, fired at the police first. I am sorry (if this report is accurate) but with all due respect, you can't shoot at an armed officer and expect not to be shot at back. You don't shoot at someone without trying to kill them so obviously it is the police's natural instinct to protect himself by shooting back.
I feel sorry for the locals in Tottenham but it is a cruel world and nobody deserves to get their house burnt down.
The protest may have been necessary but people cannot make excuses for the troubles that it has caused.
When I read the article, I kinda knew that people would retaliate.
Shine asks 'What evidence am I looking at?' That is precisely the point. You don't have ANY evidence to make a comment that there was corruption yet you spout off that there was. You know absolutely nothing about the details of the man's death. Yes you may find it hard to understand and if you had kept your comments to that then this would have been an opinion to which you are entitled. But you cant come out with a statement of corruption when you have no basis for it. THAT is a demonstration of your prejudice.

He was detained and allowed to go make a cuppa, is that usual procedure ?
If the Police have not given a official inquiry, how can I be prejudice against it ? im simply going by the information provided

More enquiries, more investigations. experts offering opinions and advising what we can do. The journo's will have a field day, and by the time all the enquiries and enquiries into enquiries have been completed none of us will be any the wiser, we still won't know who we believe, and it's doubtful that anyone will care very much anyway. All very depressing. Thank goodness we've got some football to look forward to this season.
Just been into Enfield Town centre to check wife's office and we were met with the aftermath. Roads all closed off by riot Police and debris and badly damaged Police car in road. Groups of black youths running around everywhere shouting at people. HMV and other shops have been badly trashed - the Police had plenty of notice of this - how has it still happened?
Shine: You clearly have no understanding. You have no evidence but make assertions and don't seem to comprehend the difference between an opinion and a statement of fact. Why don't you follow your own advice and wait until the inquests have heard the evidence. Even better why don't you go along and listen?
Careful how you go NLA & PaulCAFC (and any others in the Enfield area).......hope things calm down and you don't end up getting sent down for discipling some of dem yoofs for trying to rob ya!
