Whatever happens, I'm sure Elliot will go with the best wishes of the vast majority of fans - he hasn't done anything wrong as far as we know.  He also can't be around for much longer, surely?

I am also intrigued by the missing squad numbers...will they be filled in the next few days, or am I just being too optimisitic?

    Would hope so

Poyet, Wood and Davies is my guess

I reckon Robbie picked 44 after being told he wouldn't be getting the number 1 shirt. My first instinct was that it was an act of defiance, one that clearly worked as it's got us talking about it and it's pretty impossible to ignore. I could be wrong though, like I said it was my first instinct and I have no evidence. He doesn't seem too happy about the situation though judging by Twitter. It's a shame, good or bad keeper he's a Charlton fan and an honest pro. Much less upset about Francis moving to number 19. As for Waggy, it's not unusual for players to swap shirt numbers if one really cares about it and the other doesn't. Ferreira and Deco swapped numbers at Chelsea when Deco joined

Exactly what I thought about Eliott picking the number
  • You can see Powell is ruthless but only a few days ago he was saying about negotiating new deal for Robbie. Big kick in the teeth while your down for Robbie imo think he deserves a little better than that.
But Robbie hasn't signed his new deal, and may not be thought to be worth what he thinks he is.

44 is a nice compromise and doesn't signify any particular pecking order, though 4 x 11 =44, fourth choice 'keeper? .. Elliott has never struck me as a reliable goalkeeper, a definite heart in mouth whenever the ball goes near him, however , I am sure that he's a very nice young man, he's local and loyal and it would not surprise me if he didn't move away. Another point .. where might he move to to become the number one keeper?

Davies and Wood would give us a mid table/top six Championship squad IMO. Very exciting close season. Think it might be the best for signings in my 26years of supporting the Addicks

Sounds like Elliot and his agents game of bluff hasnt worked then.

4 x 11 = 44 deduct Hamer's age = 21, deduct sullivans shirt number = 8 divide by the number of years robbie has been fist choice = 4 ddt robbies shirt nr last year and hamers this year and you have 2 - and that is how many fingers the club are showing him - it is clearly a highly sophisticated and coded message that only agents and club owners will recognise. Shame, as i liked his attitude and thought he was a decent keeper but either he has been tapped up or CP doesn't rate him as nr.1. That's football so lets get behind Hamer.

Davies and Wood would be the icing on the cake of a very strong squad. Both well over 6 foot, higher division experience, young and ambitious. I'venot seen much of Davies, but Wood can play a bit

4 is an unlucky number is some Asian countries such as Japan and is sometimes called the number of death.

But numerologists think 11 is a special number and that all multples of it are special too

Or it could be because Robbie birthday in 4th April
