That’s one hell of a camel toe that Killer has there!
  • They should call it three days then, the part about three days and three nights is the most misleading!

If ever I win the lottery, I'll buy the back catalogues of all those bands, just to do that. Then again, perhaps it might be better to do something genuinely interesting 🤔

Just had a pizza flyer come through the letterbox advertising 'the biggest 18" pizza in town'.
Surely all 18" pizzas are the same size.

The world sees a video of a 'law enforcement officer' shooting dead a car driver and the official spokesperson of the government that employs said officer tells the world a version of the story everyone can see isn't true.
Who does that government believe will be swayed when it tells the world 'it's raining' when it is in fact pissing on our faces?

Not for this thread please, thank you
  • People watching videos of jacket potato vans serving people jacket potato, cheese and beans etc.

I like jacket potatoes.  But what's interesting about other people buying jacket potatoes?

Good on the business owners, mind, found a niche.

  • My new kettle turns off much quicker than the old one.

My research reveals that there are definitions for simmer, hard boil and rolling boil with different temperatures and end results to each.

I then find out that higher altitude lowers the boiling point of water because there's less atmospheric pressure pushing down on the liquid, allowing water molecules to escape as vapour more easily and at lower temperatures (e.g., boiling at 95°C at 5,000 ft vs. 100°C at sea level). This means food takes longer to cook, and you need to boil water for purification for a longer duration to kill pathogens effectively.

Anyway, I'm convinced that I've drunk my early morning tea quicker this morning as a direct result of my kettle not achieving a rolling boil.

    Should I be afraid/worried?

I can just see the headlines now, DALAI LAMA KILLED BY INFERIOR KETTLE!

Seriously, of course you shouldn't worry. You're just having a cup of tea, not partaking in germ warfare.

My hearing is pretty bad, particularly to higher pitched sound, including female voices. So, when I get off the motorbike and go indoors still wearing a helmet, balaclava and with earplugs in, why does my wife immediately try to engage me in conversation then get grumpy when I tell her I can't hear a word she is saying?

Does altitude affect how long bacon takes in the microwave?

    It does!

Yes, microwave cooking time is affected by altitude, primarily because lower air pressure at higher elevations causes water to evaporate faster and boil at lower temperatures, potentially requiring longer cooking times for water-based foods, while also making some baked goods puff too much and collapse; you often need to cook foods longer, especially meats, pasta, rice ... and bacon rashers!

Does a White Americano heat up quicker in a microwave if it’s in the Dalai Lama’s mountain retreat?
