Big Screen /scoreboard

I've made this up in 2 mins on paint, roughly what a lot of teams do nowadays, either with a live stream of the game on the screen or using that middle bit for ads etc 4 -
It doesn’t look real to me, almost like a fake one superimposed for a laugh. In fact didn’t someone mock one up that looked identical…1

SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!golfaddick said:First the new lease & now this.
Being scammed again. If this was under Roland or Sandgaard people would be doing their nut. But as it's the new guys then it's all fine.
Still haven't fixed the lock in trap 3 of the AC stand. But have spent money putting useless handrails at the end of every row.
Pah !10 -

The thing I am most impressed about is the great job they've done with the grass below and behind the screen.4 -
Old and new screen from similar angles

People forget how much dead space there was on the old screen, and the permanent ad strip at the bottomCallumcafc said:Old and new screen from similar angles

Looks perfect for a fan sofa and a hot tub in front of it7

Well it certainly adds to the ‘landscape’…0

Glad it's not just me who thought that. Hopefully it's just an optical illusion, but it does seem to be off centre.Callumcafc said:It will drive me crazy that it’s off centre from the poles it’s mounted on.0 -
Will wait and see how it is in reality.Class reveal though !3

If when you look at it it says Charlton have more goals than the opposition I'm sure it will be fine.AFKABartram said:Will wait and see how it is in reality.6 -
The actual area doesn't look significantly larger.Callumcafc said:Old and new screen from similar angles

Really? From that angle it looks as if it will be over people's heads in both the east and the Jimmy seed stand.Bedsaddick said:

The useable space on the old screen could fit in under and between steel supports of the new one.

My point was it will be multiple full screen ads throughout the game, probably in addition to smaller ads running alongside the score.Rothko said:
The old screen has permanent adverts on it all game long, there was a bar at the bottom with them onCAFCTrev said:I just can’t see how they’ll manage to fit two full lineups plus the score and match time on such a narrow screen ratio. Realistically, you’ll probably only get the club names, score, and a big match clock — and that’s it. The lineups might just scroll across the screen at intervals.
I also doubt it’ll just be the score sitting there for the whole match. More likely, it’ll share screen time with ads popping up regularly — and probably far more often than the old setup ever did.

I reckon the supports will at some point be covered by fixed boards with vinyl ads/sponsorship/graphics of some kind to prevent the eye wandering to the space behind. Not in the mockup but the old screen’s base was wrapped in vinyl and it makes sense. (Oops, quoted the wrong bit)Off_it said:

You could disguise the poles and the area underneath with green stuff or whatever.0

Plain boards to surround the screen with no ads as they want the focus to be on the screen and LEDs or so I'm told.LoOkOuT said:

No fixed ads anywhere within the bowl.1 -
Should be in use for the women's game on Sunday.
If you've got a season ticket for the men you can get a free ticket for the match.2 -
Nothing wrong with my eyes. You do know , just because it’s wider that doesn’t make it bigger in total square footage?Rothko said:

I hope the old screen was donated to charity.
Although it might have been a second hand sale to a local club.0 -
We’ll have to wait to see when it’s installed by I don’t see the point. The old one worked ok, (didn’t it?), and the new one may be bigger horizontally but smaller vertically so therefore no size increase.
What would be good, would be if we were filling that corner with seats and putting in a screen like West Brom’s.1 -
But it's not smaller vertically than the old screen really, and it's way widerjimmymelrose said:We’ll have to wait to see when it’s installed by I don’t see the point. It's already in place. First use at the women's game on Sunday.jimmymelrose said:We’ll have to wait to see when it’s installed by I don’t see the point. The old one worked ok, (didn’t it?), and the new one may be bigger horizontally but smaller vertically so therefore no size increase.
