The team names read out on the big screen were out of sync with the names on the West. Half the boards at the JS end not working. The Jensen clips were poorly done. Was a bad day at the office before a ball was kicked.

Was Josh Edwards announced in the team or did I imagine that? It's entirely possible I'm going mad, but the names out of sync had my head in a spin by then!
Yes Edwards was as was Bell and another couple. Complete farce.

Good job we had 14 players in the starting line up. Imagine what the score would've been if we'd only had 11?!

And no feesh? Then again, difficult to get the timing right on that amid the Soton goal rush.
  • Also noticed that two of the digital display boards in the East & South Stands weren't working, have we managed to break some already?

    It was very poor.
With technology, and Charlton TV is part of this, there is always some kind of lame excuse made.
What do carpenters say? ‘Measure twice, cut once’.
I am convinced that those few who form the narrow key point of communication for thousands at Charlton (and elsewhere) do not test and check everything thoroughly before starting off.
The priority for those involved in communication should always be about considering the end user, the recipient. Especially if good money is paid for the service.
God knows what it is like for blind people, and those who rely on audio. I like Charlotte Richardson as a true Charltonian, but the long periods of silence, and the follow up of generalised talk when she is commentating make it impossible for listeners to follow the action. Terry and Greg have improved, but that all goes to waste when Steve Brown is pontificating whilst play is going on.
Anyway, why is the technology not tested out thoroughly before the event, shortage of staffing resources, or shortage of a willingness to get the basics right?

As has been noted here multiple times, a lack of people taking responsibility at key management levels is to blame.  SLT, ok, next level down, complete black hole of responsibility.  Needs to be solved to stop the mess like the team sheets yesterday and Charlton fans being attacked by away fans in our own ground.
