I was expecting to find a thread about the change of Big Screen/scoreboard design - perhaps I am alone in thinking that the new design is 'challenging' to read from a distance with the changes in colour, size and layout?  I was struggling to read the players' names and the time from the Upper West on Saturday, though I gather from other sources that the present design is temporary?
Yes, the Font size & layout are meant for the big screen that is being installed in Sept/Oct. The new stuff is being designed & installed by the new Company based in Preston. They operate other clubs tech stuff too.

From the clip put out by the club last week the screen is going to completely fill the gap between the AC & JS stands.
A few seasons ago I got the club to use upper and lower case letters for the player names. Easier to read as proved by motorway signs and bus destination displays.

Unfortunately they reverted to capitals. The current designers don't undertand the importance of letter shapes.

If it is indeed from one stand to the other, it might be as much as 5 or 6 times the area of the current screen, depending on the height of it
But what about the steps down the side of the JS?
It will be on a swinging arm like my TV in my bedroom.
You may jest but the screen at Carrow Road rotates.

The screen sits in the corner between the Barclay Stand behind the goal (right of screen if watching on TV) and the South Stand (TV gantry side) i.e. in front of the Holiday Inn; when they show replays the screen is in the normal position so that the majority of the ground can see it and then the screen rotates so that the Barclay and the Thorpe Corner can see it and they replay the replay before swinging the screen back to its normal position.

They increased the font size for the player names and numbers for tonight’s games. Even made a change after the game had started to make smaller font (long names) bigger by reducing player name (r.Costello), so they are listening and reading.
    Which is great.
But why are they unable to think for themselves?
  • Got Rylah's player number wrong for 40 mins thouvb
    Yes, 38 instead of 39.
    We really are amateurish.

Probably their other job to serving food and drink on a Saturday.

If they use upper and lower case letters long names would take up less space

    Why all the complaints?
It’s already been explained earlier in the thread.
The new screen will be massively bigger than the existing one……plus the graphics are still being worked on and will obviously pair up with the size of the new screen, as and when.
The current set up is temporary.
