Sheffield Wednesday - players and staff paid late 2 months in a row (p7)

Should SW be allowed to start the season knowing that players aren't being paid, that they can't sign players (with some leaving because they can "hand in their notice") and that they might have to play youngsters who obviously wont be up standard. Better they don't start the season than play for 2 months & then collapse, with any points being expunged.
Also....is a points deduction the next step or has the transfer embargo made that null & void (double jeopardy).10 -
I think it was predictable this takeover would fall through. Chansiri is at one end of it. They need to get rid of this bloke but we should all support them in their struggle even if it is just vocally. We know what it is like to have bad owners and we are all football fans and shouldn't wish that on anyone.
The funny thing about football fans is we tend to dislike people who are most like us due to the tribal nature of the game.2 -
I wouldn’t want any club to fold ( Palace aside ) but support them in their struggle . Hell no .I can’t forgive their scummy fans for attacking woman and children ( including my 12 years old son) when we left the ground after beating them 1-0 in 2012 .Fuck em.11

Wasn’t there a club in the last 10 years or so that had no other option of fulfilling fixtures other than using youth players so young, they had to have have matches rearranged because of youngsters welfare issues?

Wednesday fans are expecting it to be closed after the safety meeting tomorrow.0

That stand holds 9k so that’s another financial hit, would assume there are STs in there too0

Didn't Birmingham play a good chunk of the season before Knighthead took over with part of St Andrews closed for safety reasons?2

I would not want to see any club be mismanaged like we have....... but the massives could be the only exception. (other than palarse and millshit) these muppets get everything they deserve. Do I want to see them fold as a club?..... Absolutely not! They deserve everything they get including relegation. I know alot of people from Yorkshire and these cnuts are a different breed. Suffering will be good for them4

Given how much of a mess they are, and their hatred towards the owner, i can't imagine they've had tons of ST holders rushing to renew, so surely 26k would be enough for them?2 -

They'll still have decent support, but i don't think all of that will have everyone rushing to renew so i'm certain their attendances will drop.0 -

Let's be honest if the stand is even a slight issue there's no way it'll be signed off. I can't imagine any safety advisor is going to take the risk and put their name to it, especially given the history of fan safety at Hillsborough.
More good news for Chansiri though is apparently if he relocates fans, then given the stand in question is along the side of the pitch, he will have to refund fans the difference if they're moved to a cheaper area. Not what a man with funding issues wants to hear.2 -
Michael Smith and Josh Windass have left Sheff Wed by mutual consent.0

Windass was linked to Brazil and MLS last season which was slightly weird but I'd suspect he'll have a good chunk of the champ interested in him1 -
Saw a post on Owls talk that with the players they lost this summer they:
- have lost 80% of the goals and 75% of assists from last season
- have just 11 goals and 11 assists from last season still at the club
- have just 6 players left who registered a Championship goal or assist last season
7 -
This of course does beg the question, with a lot of senior players now leaving, club under a transfer embargo and part of the stadium likely to be condemned, why would anyone buy them?
Surely with relegation looking almost certain and a probable points deduction not far away, wouldn't any buyer just wait for them to go into administration?2 -
Serious question because I genuinely don’t know. What grounds are there for points to be deducted.0

surely the percentage of the goals and the percentage of the assists left from last season would also be the same figure and not 80 and 75 as you mention?0 -
Some goals don’t have assists1
