+++ Charlton complete Thomas Kaminski signing +++

Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce the permanent signing of Belgian international goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski from Luton Town for an undisclosed fee.
The 6ft 3in stopper won the 2023/24 Premier League Save of the Season and played every game during the Hatters’ top-flight campaign, making the second-highest number of saves across the whole division.
The 32-year-old, who has collected end-of-season awards at both Luton and previous club Blackburn Rovers, brings a wealth of experience having made almost 200 appearances in English football’s top-two leagues.
Kaminski has signed a three-year contract with the Addicks to become Nathan Jones’ second signing of the summer following the arrival of ball-carrying midfielder Sonny Carey.
The goalkeeper said: "I'm really excited to join the club. When I first spoke to the gaffer he came across very, very determined and very passionate about what we wants to do and what he's going to do. That was a big, big motivating factor for me to come to Charlton."
Manager Nathan Jones added: "I’m very pleased because it’s a wonderful signing. Thomas was outstanding for Luton in the Premier League and he was outstanding last season in the Championship as well. For me, he’s one of the best goalkeepers in the division. We wanted to strengthen on all levels and improve every department, and we feel that the signing of Thomas does that."
Kaminski made his professional debut in his native Belgium for top-flight side Germinal Beerschot. This was followed by permanent spells at OH Leuven, Anderlecht, Kortrijk and Gent, as well as loan stints with Anorthosis Famagusta and Copenhagen.
Before making the move to Blackburn in the summer of 2020, he was part of three top-flight winning teams and lifted four cups, while also featuring in both the Champions League and the Europa League.
The stopper, who has been capped by Belgium at various youth levels, made his senior international debut against the Republic of Ireland in March 2024.

Pleased with Kaminski, I’m sure Mannion can learn plenty from him but if his own weakness is dealing with crosses then he can learn plenty from Mannion too.5

Goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski has agreed to join Sky Bet Championship side Charlton Athletic on a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee.
The 32-year-old arrived at Kenilworth Road shortly before the start of the 2023/24 season, joining from Blackburn Rovers in time to make his Premier League debut on the opening day at Brighton.
During an impressive debut campaign for the Hatters, Thomas quickly became a fans’ favourite with some impressive saves, none more so than a double stop in the home win over Crystal Palace that saw him recognised with the Castrol Save of the Month for November 2023, and the Premier League’s overall Save of the Season award.
His form also earned him a first international cap for Belgium and selection for the 2024 European Championship, as well as being voted Players’ Player of the Year by his team-mates.
In April he picked up the 2024/25 Diamond Player of the Season award in the same week that he lost his father, Jacek, with manager Matt Bloomfield travelling to Belgium to accompany him on the train journey back to play in the 1-0 win over Coventry three days later.
“Thomas is someone who I will always have the greatest respect for what he did for us at the end of last season, playing so soon after his father’s passing,” said Matt.
“I only want the best for Thomas and his family. He gave us everything in every game he played for us, and I will always watch his future career with real interest.”
Thomas leaves with all our thanks for his service over two seasons and 85 appearances for the Hatters, as well as our best wishes to him and his family for the future.

Three-year deal tends to suggest that there's some sort of long-term plan in place.
Wtf is going on at Charlton?18 -
Good stuff, really pleased with this. Last 2 seasons in the Prem and the Championship, good age, good experience and a commanding presence by the looks of it. Start of a good month for incomings I think9

Forget the amazing signing that new GK kit is banging!25

great signing and shows that Nathan appreciates that the keeper is THE most important position in the team .. VERY pleased with this, allied to regret that Mannion and Maynard-Brewer have been displaced albeit to an international class keeper (back up to Forest's Sels for Belgium)2

From Koray Geçgel, the journalist that broke the story a few days ago
While Kaminski agreed with Antalyaspor for a salary of 400 K€ without a transfer fee, Charlton will pay a 1 M€ transfer fee and an 800 K€ salary.2 -

Was the one position that I wasn't really worried about, although a better back up than AMB would have been nice.0

Really happy with this signing. Luton fans seem livid we only supposedly paid 1 mil for him.1

Never heard of him, that one slipped under the radar...😉1

Takes away a place & salary from where it's really needed.....so can I be the first one to boo.

Talking of slipping, how many "ski's" is that now in our history. Once you sign one, I hear it's all downhill, the start of a slippery slope.
Be good for us, and welcome.

Really?! Mannion was superb in the air but we're going to need much, much more than that in this league!superclive98 said:Was the one position that I wasn't really worried about, although a better back up than AMB would have been nice.15 -
