Is another of our youngsters Leo Selvey-Clinton anything to do with the former players Grahame, Richard and Paul Clinton? According to their wiki pages, their full name is Selvey Clinton (no hyphen).

Yes, he's Richard's son. Captained Tonbridge school last year when they lost to Harrow in the semi final of the national schools cup. Good player.

Thanks. Thought it seemed too much of coincidence, knowing the multi generational nature of cricket families!
The youngster I have mentioned as one to watch, 17 year old left arm spinning all rounder, Oliver Butterfill, cleaned up the tail with 3-19.
Is that the same Buterfill family who have all played for Bromley ?
Yep - James' son and has a younger brother too. Ollie made the Bunbury two years ago and although he is the same in mould as Jaydn Denly in that they are both left arm spin all rounders, I think Ollie will be more of a bowler and Jaydn more of a batter i,e, a similar comparison might be Liam Dawson as against Jacob Bethell.

550-3 dec Charlie Tear 317* & Ibrahim 183 put on 446 for the 2nd wicket
Leicestershire
195-1
New record individual score at Horsham too. Previous was 291 from James Taylor for Leicestershire.
Tear is someone I'm surprised we've not loaned out to get him some regular cricket , Simpson will always be the No1 with the gloves and we've got Oli Carter as cover.

Having watched both over the last couple of years, I think Tear might be a better player than Carter and even if he isn't deemed so right now has a bigger upside in my opinion especially as he's also three years younger. As for a loan, I think most counties are looking for someone who can slot straight in - in the case of Kent we have Jaydn and to a lesser extent Ekansh knocking on the door and neither can get into our side even though we've had a poor season. It's usually the injuries that are giving clubs cause to ring around and as we know fast bowlers are the ones that suffer from them most.
The other thing about Tear is that he does get called up for Scotland quite a lot so gains experience there - he's played four times this month for them and that's going to be a barrier in itself to a loan. Certainly come the 50 over comp, if he isn't in the Sussex side and hasn't got Scotland commitments, I would think that there might be openings at a few other counties that are decimated by that other distraction of a "tournament".
Kent have set Notts 288 to win. In reply they are 36-1 and Quinn has got Hameed trapped LBW. Whether he will be match fit for Sunday will have to be seen but with current figures of 10-2-31-4 and those wickets being Notts top three including Hameed, twice, he has to be pushing for a recall if so.

Knowing you and your brother you probably took him out and got Zak bolloxed
