I can still see a couple of those on the first list being sold . Ahadme especially but obviously at a loss.
chatting to a LONG time Addick on the phone today, he's rarely missed a game since God was a nipper,  we agree that despite the seemingly bleedin 'obvious' there is a player there and he needs game time, perhaps off the bench to show it. He was unfortunate with injuries and had first team chances when we were seriously struggling .. as ever, we will see

Surprised Tennai Watson has been released, feel he had more to offer..
and this .. perhaps a signal that a right sided signing is incoming tout de suite

I assume we will accept offers for some of those on the end of season list, otherwise it will be difficult to strengthen the squad. Probable with that is once again we may be making signings late in the preseason. I hope I am proved wrong.

We must have a long transfer target list.

Need to start signing players. Do it as early as possible so they can settle in before pre season.

I'm getting a season ticket and apart of me has hope for the reason why season tickets prices have gone up.

I pray they are doing that so we use the extra income on player wages during a player signature fued with fellow championship clubs.

We will rely on a considerable amount of increased revenue.

4-2-3-1 is our stable base. Work around that.

Does he? He signed a 3 year contract a year ago, he's not going to be on the released list. Given he left Millwall because he wanted to play I wouldn't be surprised if he pushed for a loan move at the very least

I would like to see Taylor given a chance, very good dead-ball kicker, we haven't really seen if he can fit in.
Jesus Christ. Has everyone forgotten Crawley at home that quickly?

He starred that game alongside Coventry. It was a fecking disaster.

When we were struggling? Surely he was part of the problem then?!

The hardest player to get rid of will be Ahadme.
Still got 3 years left on his contract and I doubt any club above league one will be interested.
    A terrible signing
They don’t want to get rid .. if he can get fully fit over the summer he will still be useful like he showed in pre season last year and the start of the season . And he not played in this system .
    Yes right, Col.

He was shit when he was fully fit and would be a very expensive squad player taking up a spot. Get rid asap - either loan or permanent and take a hit if need be. He is nowhere near good enough for The Championship.
The only player I see made Santos of Bolton look stupid when he robbed him of the ball and created a goal .. plus the winner at Shrewsbury and the two goals at Southend one being the goal of the season contender .. his hold up play bringing others onto the game was very good and he created number of openings ..his injury never been solved which has ruled him out for sometime now .. let’s hope the operation will fix it and he can get back fully fit

Would expect TT to go for a nominal fee either to Northampton or someone in the promotion race in League 1. Alex Mitchell is the toughest one in the squad to call , I can see both sides of it but would expect him to stay ultimately as depth along with Zach.

I didn’t read the name at the top of this twaddle but once I’d read it I knew who the guilty party was.

No suprises on departures only the fact Aaron Henry was still here to depart.

There's plenty of LONG time Addicks on here, I'm one myself. We all have our opinions, it doesn't mean that we're knowledgeable or correct. Forgive me for mentioning this yet again, when we were first linked with him I posted on here that he was nowhere near good enough but then actually giving him a FOUR year contract I just couldn't believe it. I don't think I've been more shocked with Charlton Transfers since we gave Yann away. Maybe there is a player there & maybe he does need game time but not at this club. He's at best a 4th Division player.

Along with a different system where we were not using wingers. I don't rate him though.

Looking at the squad overall I stand by what I said after the play off final - 9-10 to come in. Think Ahadme will be loaned or sold and Terry Taylor too. I think there will be at least 5 new regular starters signed. NJ is a very determined man and will do what he needs to do to get points on the board. Sentiment won’t come into it.

Terry Taylor is still here. May I be the first to say should he get a game he will be like a new signing.

Ahadme will be loaned out. No one will buy him as A. He was expensive and B. He had injuries most of the season and when he did play, he wasn't pulling up trees.

Most likely loan with option to buy.

It’s the first one since the end of the season and  the retained list announced so good to get it out of the way early.

Every team that went up last year stayed up. Yes there's a leap in quality, but it's not nearly the same as the jump between champ and premiership.

We certainly need to strengthen, but not the 9-10 players that some people are saying

Believe Terry Taylor has a significant injury, picked up late on last game of the season at Northampton.

He was on crutches and in a cast when at boxpark

A.Mitchell whether he stays or goes probably depends on offers that come in for him we won’t actively push him out the door. Ahadme will get a L1 loan we need him to build his stocks up again. We need to bring in 2 new midfielders to start alongside Coventry so Taylor probably goes to create room, Anderson and Docherty could fill in that 6 role if needed or potentially one of our new midfielders signings

Every team that went up stayed up.  In summer last year after promotion...

    - Oxford signed 16 players (including loanees).  Spending €1.8m (source Transfermarkt)

    - Pompey signed 15 players (including loanees).  Spending €3.4M (source Transfermarkt)

    - Derby signed 12 players (including loanees), spending €3.5M (source Transfermarkt).

The above suggests you do need 9-10 although you may be right as we didn't have lots of loans to get here; but I think we need 9-10 minimum.  Remember for every decent signing there is one that doesn't work out (Godden v Ahadme; Gilbert v McIntyre; Berry v Potts; Edwards v A Campbell).

The retained/released list probably wrote itself.
The interesting thing will be how many contracted players will be allowed to leave, either by dint of an offer we can't refuse or because we need to flush them down the toilet
