Would expect TT to go for a nominal fee either to Northampton or someone in the promotion race in League 1. Alex Mitchell is the toughest one in the squad to call , I can see both sides of it but would expect him to stay ultimately as depth along with Zach.
Alex is not good enough for top of L1, let alone the Championship. Not seen enough of Zach.
TT - not good enough for Championship; nor is AMB, Ahadme, Mbick
Squad players to retain - Docherty, Macauley G, Leaburn, Anderson
Jurys still out….Kanu, Zach M, Dixon, Asimwe
Views all mine and probably much to argue with!
Not sure if you've seem M'Bick play as many games as I have.
He is a very strong attacker and scores goals. Class penalty taker too.
Zach Mitchell is pure class. Great at attacking from defence.
You are right about M'Bick - seen him a few times as sub and he looked slow, hence my view.
Zach has not been seen enough, so again I agree with you.
Problem for us is that we need proven players at the new level.
Oxford,Pompey and Derby all struggled for most of the season and it was not until the last part of the season they all started picking up survival points,I think all of them were mostly in relegation positions for quite a few months.
Derby would have gone done without changing their manager.
It's not unreasonable to hope that one of the young 'uns makes a significant step up, in the manner of Alfie Doughty, who I don't think featured at all the 18-19 promotion season.
But you can't assume it when working out a recruitment strategy...it's more of a bonus if it happens
Had to go and check this as I doubted your memory, but it was mine that was failing. He had a few cup appearances but none in the league.
I'm calling it now Mbick will bulk up a bit over summer, work with Godden and come back the beast he's been for our unders sides.
I agree.
He still has a fair bit of growing to come I reckon. Hopefully he won't be unbalanced in any way because of it, but if he fills out any further he will have a very formidable stature. Depending on who comes in I do think he would do well to have a credible loan. By that I actually mean no lower than league one.
Really sorry about Aneke. He was great coming from the bench. Now, I think we need sign at least 1 or 2 new players per line. Goalkeeper, defense, center And forward. So 50% of the main squad has to be replaced, and obviously another players for the bench. Segunda División at Spain would be a great market to look for it. Saludos desde Madrid ☀️
It still makes me laugh when I remember the fans from other clubs responding to the video of Mateta stamping on Small by the corner flag, wanting to know "was the monster at the end" when Chuks came into frame.

I’m not sure bulking up is the issue with Mbick. No disrespect to him, but a solid loan where he gets regular football is what he needs imho.
I do think we need a Chuks type figure who can bully defences, but is also good on the ball. I’ll really miss him, if only for the watchability factor. He almost always lit up a game, in one way or another. I’d like to see a decent clip real of his contributions over the last two or three seasons.

Not just goals and assistant also muscling defenders. I remember watching him come on and running straight into couple of defenders as if ti say "Hi, now watch out "
This time last year, we released Diallang Jaiyesemi, Michael Hector, Terrel Thomas and Jack Payne. The year before that – Macauley Bonne, Alex Gilbey and Ryan Innis. This clear-out is much less satisfying, with nobody who's useless on the list.

the worst thing was there were people that wanted to keep some of the above - my stomach churns at the thought of having kept some of them on

I think there is a group of well-intentioned, nice people supporting this club who find it really hard to say that any Charlton player is not good enough, lazy, etc. In their eyes, it's never the player's fault, it's circumstances or management. But the truth is, we have had some real tripe play for us in recent years, and I'm not sure this 'atmosphere of acceptance' has helped uphold the standard of performances that we should accept.

Of those 7, 3 have played in the NL this season, 1 for L2 team that just got relegated, 2 for mid table L2 teams and just 1 for a L1 team...

True enough but it's not entirely one way - Jones has been given the kind of influence and control to bring the best out of these players, which he probably wouldn't have had under previous regimes. Jones, TC and Gillesphey (amongst others) have both come on immensely but when they first arrived they didn't look that much better than Thomas, Hector and Co.
I'm not for one minute suggesting that NJ could have turned Terrell Thomas into Lloyd Jones but I don't think it's quite as simple as "well all the players are just better now." (Although generally it is a better squad, just not as much as maybe it seems at first.)
I think the released list is a signal of the intent to upgrade the squad and I'm pleased to see it, especially with letting Tennai go, he's been smashing for us but he's not Championship and neither is Chuks, even a 'pay as you play' Chuks. Perhaps previous regimes would have done something for those two but I think our current owners and board are looking higher. We'll have to wait a bit longer to see the level of 'support' they're prepared to give NJ and PC but seeing off the Thierry Small hunters will be one signal as will what happens with Miles, TC and the incomings. I can't see NJ wanting anything other than a competitive squad which can at the very least hold it's own in the Championship and one which can be built upon and improved the the next couple of seasons. It would be fascinating to be a fly on the wall when they have succession planning....... who to extend now....... who to keep/possibly keep/not keep beyond their current contracts.......

Looks slow and less than impressive first touch tough.the size/power more useful in league one

No player in our squad now has legs like Chuks' tree trunks.
Hector’s Championship level
Thomas could be a good squad player
