Looking for some advice, living abroad and haven't been to Wembley for a few years now:
I might have to race to get to Stansted Airport after the game, especially if it goes to extra time. Public transport would be Metropolitan to Liverpool St and then Stansted Express.
Alternatively, getting a cab: how far by foot would I need to get away from Wembley Stadium to get a cab at short notice without it getting stuck in traffic? Alternative would of course be taking Met/Jubilee away from London and then a cab, but I reckon that would eat up more time.

Just remember that the tubes and trains to Wembley are likely to be rammed, so don't assumed you'll be able to jump on the first one.3

I'll be travelling up to town by train - then tube to Wembley. For the first time with a wheelchair user in among our group.
I'm expecting the path of least resistance will be to get off at London Bridge - then Jubille to Wembley park. I think that's served by lifts all the way and very easy. Anyone able to confirm it'll be a straightforward journey?0 -

Be far cheaper than using South Eastern for the first leg of the journey... Aiming to get to Wembley around 11:30am

Thinking of doing the same with my son, but from Canterbury. Should be a similar time frame but much, much cheaper. A return ticket from Canterbury West to Wembley, taking 2 hours with 2 changes, £53.40 each. If you've not parked around Abbey Wood for the Station (Hopefully be quieter as will be a Sunday), but I find along Alsike Road a really good option whenever I go up that way to get the train into London. Ridiculous really as its cheaper to do that than pay the £31 for the High Speed.superclive98 said:

We are staying in Bexleyheath, TFL planner is suggesting Superloop 3 to Abbey Wood, LIzzy Line to Farringdon, walk to Barbican and the the Metropolitan to Wemberlee Park. Did just see this on one website, RE: the connection from the Liz to Met Line at Farringdon.
If changing from the Elizabeth line to Circle/Hammersmith & City/Metropolitan at Farringdon , you may find it quicker to follow signs to National Rail (Thameslink) platform 4 instead, then walk along that platform to the footbridge at the end of the platform which will take you directly to the Tube. There are also Oyster readers near the footbridge if you need to touch in/out. This can avoid you having to exit the station and then re-enter it from across the road.0 -

Did just see this on one website, RE: the connection from the Liz to Met Line at Farringdon.
If changing from the Elizabeth line to Circle/Hammersmith & City/Metropolitan at Farringdon , you may find it quicker to follow signs to National Rail (Thameslink) platform 4 instead, then walk along that platform to the footbridge at the end of the platform which will take you directly to the Tube. Driving up to Bexley village,(project Brock in place)Parking, then collecting son 1, being driven by his wife to Bexleyheath station, hoping to go to Victoria , meet son 2 who is coming from a wedding at Sittingbourne, then tube to Wembley Park. I think it will be at least a 15 minute walk to have a drink, and meet the rest of the party, ( or is it longer) apparently they have reservations/booking. then on to Wembley. Leaving at 7.45 in Hythe , God knows why the M20 has operation Brock on!, who goes to on a Sunday to France for a couple of days!. Sitting up in the "Gods" , but at least there . Come on you reds!0

Might save yourself 10 mins....but like you say not worth it if you have a seat on the Jubilee train. Worth checking out CX to Wembley Central....a tad slower (more stops) but might not be as busy and certainly less Orient fans that way. Also going to Wembley Central is handy for 'our' end of the ground and for 'our' allocated pubs.CafcSCP said:

The Met is quicker BUT the danger of the easy interchange at Finchley Road is that you get off the Jubilee Line train, only to find all the Met trains arriving there are rammed with people who got on them earlier.5

We was doing Lizzie Line (change at Farringdon) and Met Line to Wembley Park.But now carrying on to Paddington and changing to Bakerloo for Wembley Central (shorter walk to JJ Moons).1

Because when I asked for time comparison on the web, with the starting point Eltham and NG, it gave NG as the clear winner. Then when I fed in the 3rd option of Liz line from Woolwich it said that was comparable to NG/Jubilee, but Eltham still wasn't getting a look in.tallboy said:

Since my sister is offering to drop us at any of these three places (her gaff is about 12 mins walk from Eltham station and I'm still walking a bit slower than usual) it's not really messing around.
When it comes to the Met line we did that switch in 2019 and I seem to recall it was nice. We got seats. Can't recall if we got on at Finchley Road tho' might have been Baker Street.0 -

If you’re starting in Eltham (assuming somewhere relatively close to the station) then I don’t really know why you would travel to North Greenwich when you could spend the same amount of time travelling to London Bridge and be further up the Jubilee line in the direction of Wembley.7 -
