Wembley pubs

This may happen in some cases but clearly not always because the day before us, Sunderland have the Green Man and Sheff Utd have Boxpark.paulsturgess said:They divide all the pubs around Wembley into 2 sets every time for every game. Fair enough my mistake if that’s the case.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

both were palace yesterday. forest when I went to their play off final, and was the case for us in 2019 and for Villa that year too. I had assumed that was pretty much the rule as always been in my experiences. In which case I guess we’ll have to wait and see. I suspect we’ll get boxpark as I feel like they’ll want that for the bigger following

Forest and Villa got the boxpark for semis this year and palace and Man City got Green Man. Yesterday Palace had both, so seems to be ad hoc2
-
Not saying will be the same, but this was the fa cup semis split of pubs

This pub is a 3 minutes walk from Preston Road tube station on the Metropolitan Line, one stop from Wembley Park tube.I was in here for the 2019 final, and was great for getting served both before and after the game. It was not heaving as you would imagine it to be.

i did put the pub split up earlier for scum yesterday0

I went to an Irish pub near Preston Rd called Twomey’s for the England/ Ireland game Recently. Think the problem is it being a Sunday game and their opening time.ElfsborgAddick said:This pub is a 3 minutes walk from Preston Road tube station on the Metropolitan Line, one stop from Wembley Park tube.I was in here for the 2019 final, and was great for getting served both before and after the game. Its not 100% guaranteed though. Green Man & Boxpark split for Championship play off as an example. Its probably correct though as all other games seems to have followed the same logicpalarsehater said:i did put the pub split up earlier for scum yesterday0 -
Just a guess but as it seems we might have a lot more fans than Os we might get more pubs.1

Says on teh website it opens at 10am on a Sunday. So not too bad.guinnessaddick said:

For England games I have always found the pubs in Kingsbury good.3

Just about to mention that mate, spoons right outside and one stop against the traffic on jubilee line0

Will boxpark not be full of premier league tourists when we come out?0

Marylebone for me i think (pubs in the station) and 10 minute train direct to Wembley stadium, if I make it in time. Those weren't too busy either in 2019.0

You'd be wrong then.swords_alive said:ElfsborgAddick said:This pub is a 3 minutes walk from Preston Road tube station on the Metropolitan Line, one stop from Wembley Park tube.I was in here for the 2019 final, and was great for getting served both before and after the game. Can't help but imagine another one of those desolate places that pass for pubs in Brasil that you post on the pubs thread.

No need for the shitty comment as well. Very unnecessary.4 -
As per wembley ticket thread, looks like Orient have boxpark this time: https://www.brent.gov.uk/parking-roads-and-travel/parking/wembley-event-day-parking/match-days2

Weather will play havoc now with where people go… shown as raining all morning0
-
Don’t people just meet + drink up London and then get the tube out?1
-
Shame about that. Does anyone know if any of the places on the list will be ticketed like the box park 'fan zone' was last time? Was quite handy being guaranteed to get in (and efficient service) last time roundBalladMan said:As per wembley ticket thread, looks like Orient have boxpark this time: https://www.brent.gov.uk/parking-roads-and-travel/parking/wembley-event-day-parking/match-days0 -

has Green Man got sizeable outdoor cover if it is raining?0

Not really no, it has some but most of the space is just the huge beer garden they have.DoctorCharlton said:has Green Man got sizeable outdoor cover if it is raining?

Massive respect to anyone who can watch Charlton sober.se9addick said:
That might be a good shout. Realistically, unless you want to be in a pub for 10am or something, I’m not sure how much sense it makes going to a pub pre-match when it’s a 1pm kick off at Wembley.Elthamaddick said:The Charlton fanzone at the stadium was decent last time, very easy to get a beer11 -
On the subject of alcohol, would I be right in guessing that the bag checks at Wembley will be a bit more thorough than the ones at the Valley?2

This is the 2019 thread. The split of pubs is slightly different this time

I drunk so much before Wycombe, that I had to watch the first half with 1 eye.Uboat said:

the fan zone/fan park at the stadium behind our end wasn't ticketed last time as far as I can remember - we just wandered inateamofcorygibbs said:

Phoned up The White Horse opposite the Arena and they're allocated to us and opening at 10. Unfortunately you can't book tables.0

We’ve been screwed on decent pub drinking for this game with getting to Wembley and KO time2
