  • Am I missing something here? What is this spat all about? It’s a rumours thread. One poster says we are signing a midfielder from the Championship, no name given, whilst another says we are signing Jamie Jellis from League Two Walsall. Either one will be right or neither will be. Let’s wait and see eh? All getting a bit unseemly.
Just a bit of a running joke from earlier in the week

So a championship midfielder that his club is prepared to let go  in January ?
Jones and Rodwell didn't sound keen on loans in their Sparrows lane chat in the week but let's hope it comes to fruition and more JRS than Man city loans of recent times.
  • I imagine the loan will be Harry Cornick from Bristol city

And you raised that insult with a touch of finesse mate !! “Pringle breath” 😜
  •  Owen Moxon Linked with us this evening

I’d maybe prefer the defensively minded forward - Oxymoron. But I’ve heard he’s difficult to manage - a real contrarian apparently.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it was McGuane, heard he wants to come back this way as his family live around Sidcup.
Would be very happy with that. Always looked class for Oxford against us (not difficult tbf)

Sorry, my PTSD kicked in at Alex Gilb, I think we'll say no to that one

If our transfer budget is limited in this transfer window,  I would hope we aren’t bringing in another holding mid even if he is an upgrade on Coventry

He’s a bit old now but reckon he could still do the job in the final third
  • I'd be buzzing with McGuane, one of the best players I saw against us last season, absolutely class.

So the midfielder is confused then ? 😆

Just to clarify here, do you mean two signings?
  • Jellis looks like an absolutely incredible player, I think he would do well in this league and also has time to develop. Has cut his teeth in non league with Tamworth so shouldn’t be some lightweight like the u-21 players we have had from prem teams

    Here we go.
When has anyone made one of these bold predictions in the last 10 years and got it right?
Maybe keep your powder drive until we've seen him play eh?
Not exactly said he’s the second coming of messi have I? Having seen him in league two and heard about him in non league it’s not a stretch to say he would do well in the league. I didnt say he’d smash it, just that he’d be a good addition
Terry Taylor was a good addition.
There were bods in here creaming on his arrival.
    Park the assumptions.
Keep It schtum, and lets see.

    Killjoy.
  • I thought McGuane was more of a holder along the lines of Doc and Cov than a Berry replacement. Very tidy player though and I wouldn't complain if he did come in.

    Just a comma missing.
  • Jamal Blackman looks a very commanding keeper for Shrewsbury.

    From Croydon.

He's had a very nomadic career , came through at Chelsea and was loaned out all over the place , then had a brief stint in MLS before stints at Exeter and Burton in this league. Did look very solid.

Again use some sort of critical thinking, I’ve said he would do well in the league. I didn’t realise saying he would do well is me ‘creaming over him’. Basically you’re saying every player is shit unless they’ve played well for us

I mean he did tear their left back a new one in the FA cup game against them so no surprise there.

Sadly I think Small will be gone soon. If there’s any truth in the Preston NE link and there’s money offered I can see that happening. If not I think he’ll walk in the summer. He’s been in no rush to sign a new deal and hasn’t really knuckled down or shown much loyalty wherever he’s been. He’s what ? 20 ? His next club will be his seventh I think.
