I'd like a pound for every time Nathan mentions the 'lack of quality in the final third' in his post match interviews,5

Remember Jones brought in Docherty, Berry and Campbell on loan saying he knew their quality and how they improve the team. None started but played ill equipped Anderson, Small and T Campbell, proving just how good our recruitment has been.6

I think we miss Dobbo controlling our midfield. Better second half but far from great. I am puzzled that Coventry and Taylor are unable to create clear cut chances. Plus, most of Taylor's set pieces were poor today. The referee was even more dire than the action.

Another week another sleepless Saturday night, why? Because once again I'm seeing the club I've supported since I was 5 yrs old, in 1960, moving further into terminal decline!
For many seasons now, with the odd exception of Bowyers reign, we've been absolutely dire, across the entire club, from top to bottom!
Chancers and owners who don't have a clue, or a desire, or love of our club.
It started with Roland and has got progressively worse, I thought with this new lot coming in from the States, with their so called 'billions' we might be on the up! Sadly, they got involved with the fly boy Methven and his sidekicks in Rodwell and the totally useless Scott!
Now look at us, I'm gutted, totally gutted, my/our club is being destroyed. No manager in recent times has been able to get us out of this malaise, and it seems no-one in charge cares!
The football (if u can call it that!) is awful, I've seen us back in the 60's & 70's when we were poor, but by christ this lot are just atrocious!
I fear for my club, our support, our future. I shouldn't be, I shouldn't be staying awake on Saturday nights, BUT, unless something changes and changes now this club is fucked!
My solution, it's obvious that NJ is staying, so Yankee billionaires, get rid of CM and Co. Get Curbs or an experienced DoF in, spend proper money on decent players, or just sell up and fuck off!!
You're crippling a famous old club, an institution of SE London, a wonderful community set-up, so put up or go!!
I'm so angry and depressed it bloody hurts and I've shed more tears overnight than I should!

Another 2 points dropped against a poor Mansfield team. A better second half but their keeper had an easy afternoon as we barely threatened their goal
3 wins in the last 16 league games, less than a goal a game. Midtable football once again2 -
I'm just so bored.
I've never been one for managers returning but I'd love to see Jacko in there with Pearce as his number two. Two blokes that get our club and I'm certain would get us playing. Jones talks absolute tosh, best pressing team in the league who gives a monkeys if we aren't winning?10 -
Torn between sticking with him giving him another window or having to go through another complete reset. Mess1

The optimist in me says those periods of decent play show that they CAN play decent, we just have to question why they aren't so often.
As long as we're bumping along with enough to stay mid-table and keep us out of trouble, Jones at least gets the rest of the year to see if anything in January can turn it around. Ditching yet another manager when we are mid table just seems unrealistic about what anybody else would achieve this year.2 - Sponsored links:

Anderson very involved, we missed his energy when he went off. MOTM..
L Jones makes a big difference at the back
Conor should be renamed Yrtnevoc as he nearly always only goes backwards.
Team continues to lack cohesion, precision and pattern of play.
N Jones sees himself as a motivator and bases his whole approach, it seems, on that.
What he isn't is a coach and we badly miss a Paul Hart, a Chris Cohen or similar to get the most out of what we have.
Mansfield were nothing special but moved well and passed the ball and had good chances to scores that they skyed. Travelling fans came in numbers and made some noise as might be expected from a club on the up and in its highest league position in decades.
In real time it looked a locked on penalty but you can't rely on those being given to win games7 -

Which is the penalty on Leaburn that is obvious? The first where they were wrestling each other (I'd say about evenly, not a stinking decision) or the second on the edge of the box that happened off the ball? DGMW the ref had an absolute howler anyway1

This team really misses someone like Kishishev. From a long way back I know, but someone who can stop and break up teams attacks, be not afraid to get on the ball and make things happen going forrward.

Agree with everyone re boring shit football tactics etc,BUT I’m hoping that NJ can see /realise that his recruitment was not very good and try’s to address that in January cause I don’t want another change and it all starts again,
if we get any players in where we so obviously need them that will in my book give NJ more time, if not bye bye.0 -
Not read the full thread but if we are questioning the officials over the ‘penalty’ then we should be looking more closely at the two tackles where it looked like the Mansfield player(s) stopped the attacking Charlton player(s) by putting their arms around the neck of the charlton player and pulling them back. The first time it happened it got a free kick and a yellow, the second time it got nothing. Tackles like that should be straight reds. The club should take a good look at both those tackles and if they were what I thought they looked like to me then they should be asking the FA/EFL to investigate.3
