Finally I managed to talk him to coming to another game... Yesterday's game. FFS... I think that was even more boring than Everton.
Arguably the most interesting thing that happened was a strange incident in the NW. An old guy took exception to a younger fan singing the "We've lost the ball" song and took a swing at him. I thought the younger fan handled himself well and didn't retaliate, but was obviously upset. The old guys mates moved him away but then kept moaning at the younger fan for making a big deal about it.

Yesterday here was some following people I spoke to by chance,
2x Dutch blokes who wanted to see a game of football, no interest in Charlton
3x Slavs, who couldn't understand me (tbf some English people cant)
A group of 4 lads, where 2 supported Ipswich, and the other 2 didn't say who they supported, but it wasn't Charlton.
I spoke with a group of 3, two were Charlton (and fantastic to speak with) the other was West Ham (wearing a Charlton scarf his mate bought him 😂)
A group of 4, of which 1 never goes, only when he gets a free ticket (which is probably every week now)
And lastly a group of 3, where one also rarely goes and didn't know much about Charlton.
So for the amount I spoke with, around 30-40% didn't actually support Charlton, which I genuinely find staggering.
I don't mind people who don't support Charlton watching (as the Valley would look even more dead) but it was crazy for me.
Our support is so low atm. It made me wonder how many people in the stadium are actually a Charlton fan, and not there just for something to do.
Again, I'm not against it, just shows how poorly supported we are currently that we are relying on freebies etc to fill seats. It definitely feels like the actual number of Charlton fans in the stadium is the worst it’s ever been for a quarter of a century.
Our away support is very decent all things considered, home support currently is woeful, and I don't think giving away free tickets is gonna cut it, especially when the football served up won't convince them to come back.

Also special thanks to the chap that nipped out to Chicken George is it? Grabbed Rosa some chips as she couldn't stomach the hot "food" options. Then wouldn't let us pay him for them. Absolute hero.
That's the highlights.
superb photo that.
Rommedahl was sat behind you as well.

It’ll change after he’s sacked.0 -
TellyTubby said:OK, so I know that this will be a minority view, but I thought that the performance was better.
The players were clearly told to pass the ball and not hoof it bypassing the midfield, I welcome that change.
The ref was dreadful, he should have booked several Mansfield players for professional shithousery in the first half alone. Just perhaps this may have made a difference, but tbh the finishing from both sides was not very good.
I'm not totally hacked off post match for a long time because I believe that Jones has realised that Hoofball isn't working for us.
Most peculiar that they started doing it when apparently not told to and even stranger that it took until after this week’s press conference questions to him about it, for it to miraculously stop. Pure coincidence.
I bloody hate liars.
NB I doubt Jones admits that hoofball ain’t working, more the fact that he’s being told by the fans and now the press and no doubt the board.3 -

I can see this being an eventful day in the stands. If we go behind and the football is toilet it could be a start to the protests similar to the Watford 5-0.

Got to O’Neills Blackheath at 12 and decided to stay there, left at eight. Certainly the right decision.18

For those who want rid of NJ you need him to walk away because he will cost too much to pay off.0

If it’ll cost too much he’s with us for years.0 -
Can we drop further - I hope not, but how can Jones turn this around?
He would need to change everything he has drilled into the players - new patterns of play, new training processes (I appreciate it looks like there are no patterns of play).
We are a total mess top to bottom.
Crowds will drop sub 10k very soon if they aren't already and with no hope the back end of the season will be bleak.
To consistently go backwards year on year is some achievement from the club, it's impressive how bad it's been.
God knows what we need to endure next.

I think he’s hanging on and has been for months.
He clearly lost the plot when interviewed after the Reading game and came across as mentally unstable.
Then he started making strange decisions like dropping Alex Mitchell.
If I was a player I would be thinking my boss is of unsound mind which would make me incredibly uneasy.
It’s soul destroying going to work knowing that your boss is riddled with anxiety and makes too many wrong decisions.3 -
Thanks CE
Pretty much as I see things.
Will he or Scott be trusted to bring anyone in during the transfer window?0 - Sponsored links:

God knows what we need to endure next. What’s more concerning is that it feels like the rot that has taken hold of the club is accelerating. You can see it in the abysmal attendances, the dreadful recruitment, the really poor atmosphere at matches and the general resignation to failure that seems to permeate all aspects of the Club. How good or bad the team is on the pitch is important, but I sense there are broader, longer term, issues that will determine the future of our Football Club that go further than just on the pitch stuff.6 -
Caught the last 30mins yest and though a slight improvement it was impossible not to the awful football we are currently witnessing. The only positive right now is my marriage. For last few years I’ve made sure I’ve watched every game (albeit mainly streaming from a quick weekly trip to France) and made the wife pissed we can’t do anything 2.30-5 every sat. Now I’m like let’s go out as even shopping with her is less painful than watching us at the moment. So least NJ has helped my marriage somewhat.12

I was going to commend you on your good Dadding @Dazzler21, but after sillybilly's comment it occurs that I should probably check first that you didn't teach her any new words that she shouldn't repeat in polite company, under the provocation of the ref's performance.
Also, was the guy who went to get the chips for her catering staff or a fellow fan? If the former, I'd suggest contacting the club to commend them on their stellar customer service, although part of me wonders whether he'd get a warning for not taking your money.

Very likely but how would it compare with the amount required for contracts of the new players some feel we need in January ?
Advised today that money isn't really a problem for our minted owners ....but it's about how it's spent.
Get rid of the Terrible Three and free up even more cash.3 -

Which makes me wonder what are the clauses in Jones contract, as if there isn't a performance clause, we are ran by idiots.
People may think it's harsh, but you shouldn't take on managers without target clauses. If a manager can't agree to that, find someone else. Otherwise you end up in this current position.3 -

Having listened to NJ's interview, it appears that he managed something most fans didn't . He must have been at a different match because there is no way he could say he saw the same game as most of us1
