Wouldn’t there be a cap on the number of events the club is licensed to hold at the Valley ? We will have already increased the number being held by moving the women’s team games to the Valley. Add Wasps games as well and that’s probably doubling the number held last season.0

Also to note that a Rugby season features far less home games than a football one. In the rugby second tier (possibly lower depending on where the rfu plonk them) without European games it would be around 10-12 games a season.
Still a big impact on the pitch of course.0 -

She is a professional journalist so would probably have written the same story if it was QPR or Millwall. Obviously, she has more of an interest because it is us but that doesn't means she has any inside sources.bolloxbolder said:

This was going around as a rumour a few months back. I heard it from someone who's friend isn't a Charlton fan but is into rugger and has heard about it.
I asked around and was told that indeed the club was talking to an unnamed rugby club but it was only preliminary talks and nothing had been agreed.
Whether this is just the Times picking up on old news or something more has happened I don't know but there are no quotes from either club in the Times but no denials either.2 -

I'm ashamed to say that I actually went to see them once out of curiosity, can't remember anything about the game, so must have been memorable...but the lo-light of the day was they had Bay City Rollers on as half time "entertainment"...😂Crusty54 said:

I'm not aware of any of the teams that have gone bust being relegated - that's a misunderstanding on the part of the journalists reporting it. The standard arrangement for the big professional clubs is that the pro side is legally separate from the amateurs, who brand themselves as the seconds (or often with some sort of cutesy name like London Welsh Druids or London Irish Wild Geese) but are technically a different club. When the pro side goes bust, the amateur club just rebrands as a First XV and carries on as if nothing had happened. For Wasps they still have the Ricoh as there home. I would suggest that they do not have the money to pay the bills, I would not touch them with a barge pole, you just have to look at their record.0 -
