I beleive we barely made six figures from the London Broncos tenure so is worth the hassle?
Union has a better fan base. League (especially London as they’ve been nomads for so long) crowds are declining despite what the RFL would have you believe.
I am pretty sure that I saw a sign on the gate to Rectory Field that Askeans now play there.
If that is right then the place is possibly viable for Rugby, maybe Blackheath will return there one day.
Blackheath upped sticks to Eltham because they didn't want to share bar takings, etc, with the other clubs based at the Rectory Field (tennis, cricket, etc). Well Hall is exclusively theirs, I think. They were getting about 1,000 at the Rectory Field for third-tier rugby, not sure what they get now.
Askeans play much further down the rugby pyramid - when they moved in they weren't charging an admission fee for spectators.
Not sure if they have the freehold or lease on the old poly ground but I know Millwall academy also have a regular presence there.
Wouldn’t there be a cap on the number of events the club is licensed to hold at the Valley ? We will have already increased the number being held by moving the women’s team games to the Valley. Add Wasps games as well and that’s probably doubling the number held last season.
Also to note that a Rugby season features far less home games than a football one. In the rugby second tier (possibly lower depending on where the rfu plonk them) without European games it would be around 10-12 games a season.

Im not seeing this reported anywhere outside of the times with talksport just regurgitating that. I don't think it's happening.

She is a professional journalist so would probably have written the same story if it was QPR or Millwall. Obviously, she has more of an interest because it is us but that doesn't means she has any inside sources.

I'm ashamed to say that I actually went to see them once out of curiosity, can't remember anything about the game, so must have been memorable...but the lo-light of the day was they had Bay City Rollers on as half time "entertainment"...😂
Have they actually played any games since being relegated to tier 10 in may 2023.
I'm not aware of any of the teams that have gone bust being relegated - that's a misunderstanding on the part of the journalists reporting it. The standard arrangement for the big professional clubs is that the pro side is legally separate from the amateurs, who brand themselves as the seconds (or often with some sort of cutesy name like London Welsh Druids or London Irish Wild Geese) but are technically a different club. When the pro side goes bust, the amateur club just rebrands as a First XV and carries on as if nothing had happened. If they're really lucky, as was the case for London Welsh but not for Worcester, the amateurs own the ground and can keep hold of it.

I would suggest that they do not have the money to pay the bills, I would not touch them with a barge pole, you just have to look at their record.

Surely the Museum must be able to find them, should anyone have taken them...but don't look at me Henry...Sorry. All I do remember was they were set up on the pitch at half time in front of The East Stand at the time, probably '96? Thinking about it maybe it was pre-match entertainment, not half time...
