According to the Times
Paywalled article but in brief:
Depends on them getting slot in rugby championship (div 2) in 25,/26
They are ditching the Sevenoaks plan due to local opposition to the wider development proposed.
Possible because of new pitch at the Valley

so how will they manage first team, women and wasps2

That's our nice new pitch ruined....24

This rumour was going around a few months ago.
No idea how far it got but there were talks.
Talk of it being for their 25/26 season if they actually exist as a team, which isn't by any means guarenteed.
Council and local residents would have issues and license at the Valley is for playing football. Regular non-football events fall outside of the licence.
Wasps have also left a trail of chaos and debt everywhere they have been so maybe not the best tenents.8 -
It makes maximum sense financially to get full use of the ground. The limiter to that has always been the pitch and what it can take but if that is resolved it has a logic to it for me. I suppose the next question is can the new improved pitch take more football and Rugby? We haven't seen it over the course of the season yet though of course there is a lot of information about similar pitches.1

Guessing our lease might have sub-letting clauses so may have to negotiate with Roland.4
-
The condition of the pitch will come under pressure as it is come the winter months with both the men's and women's teams playing on it.
Makes no sense whatsoever to add a Rugby club to the mix, the pitch in all probably would suffer badly.9 -
I love it with the extra lines on the pitch 🙄9

and what about days. with first team and women what day so wasps fit in0

What about their B team… 😬29

I hope we get promotion, and don’t have to go down this route.4

Think the pitch would probably be ok, the durability is part of the point of it and it would only be 10 matches. Agree with oohaah about the lines, it looks awful. I also can’t see that it would bring much value given their financial issues

I am a big fan of Rugby Union, was a fan of Wasps, BUT this idea (I doubt it will ever happen mind you) is one for the waste paper bin .. as said the damage to the pitch and the logistics of 'ground sharing' would probably cost more than any financial benefit .. anyway how would Wasps afford to pay their way ?1
-
Unless we really need the money, I'd hope we don't go down this route5
-
Not at all keen on this. I have never seen the different pitch markings tackled successfully when looking at ground share pitches on the television set.3

Something to be discussed at the next fans forum meeting7

They can bloody well BUZZ OFF...🤦♂️2

No issue here. Guessing we'll be prioritising then Men and Women's teams above Wasps if it does happen.0

It's Rugby Football, but no idea if that would hold up if pushed for.6 -
Uhoh…….here we go!!!!!!0

I'd imagine this was floated before the women's team got the confirmation to play at The Valley?0

We only got the new pitch because of the £750k grant from the FA which was contingent on the Women playing at the Valley for the next ten years.3 -

That will be going straight in the Belgians sky rocket!0 -
I doubt if the locals will be happy to have another 10 games with potentially 10,000+ crowds0

Don’t want any egg chasers on our pitch.4
