I watched the Barnsley game on Virgin 360 Box.
There was no juddering at all, although it did freeze on 90 mins, so I logged back in.
Coverage was excellent and better than I expected.
There was a 5 minute silence at HT presumably for a commentator comfort break.

So this is what will annoy me, you seemingly can't go back and watch a whole game again, all they're going to have is a very short highlights package

    More information on SKY SPORTS+

It’s worth noting that subscribers with the older Sky+ box will receive the new Sky Sports+ linear channel (if they have a full sports subscription), but they won’t have access to the live streams as Sky+ is not compatible with the Sky Sports+ streaming app.

I DIDN'T KNOW THIS UNTIL NOW. HAVE RESISTED GETTING Q DUE TO MANY PEOPLE HAVING PROBLEMS CONNECTING Q TO BT WIFI. GRR. ANYONE KNOW IF THERE IS A SOLUTION.

TO RUB SALT IN THE WOUND HAVE JUST RENEWED MY SKY SUB FOR 2 YEARS.
Didn’t have any problems when connecting Q to our BT WiFi and it’s been working fine ever since.

Trying to watch Barnsley Vs Mansfield. The coverage is appalling. Constantly freezing and juddering. Checked my WiFi speed and it's definitely not that causing the issue.

Have Sky overstretched themselves and not given these red buttons games enough bandwidth?
It was with the Chesterfield v Swindon game as well and it stopped broadcasting before the end of the game .

How often does anyone watch a whole game and then watch it again?

I'm talking about when you can't watch it live. Before you could record it and watch it back, now you can't

Watched parts of the Barnsley  v Mansfield game. Like others I experienced periods where the picture froze, but only for a second or two and also had it freeze completely on 90 mins just as their was a corner.

Main issue though was the colour. It looked like the players had fake orange tans. I hope our game tomorrow wont be the same.

Dont think you've ever been able to record things on the red button. I remember trying when the golf was on there.
  • I have the old Sky + HD box, and subscribe to Sky Sports.

However I am struggling to find the new Sky plus football channel on my box.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Does anyone know if you can watch red button games on SkyGo?
Sorry if the question has been answered earlier in the thread.

Sort of. My understanding is you need a SkyGo account and then you have to watch the games through the Sky Sports app using that log in. I think!

Glad i'm watching on Charlton TV today. Hopefully they will fix the gremlins as I get my 360 box on Tuesday. I must admit I do like our commentary. I like Terry's bias and Stubbley has genuine tactical knowledge.

there was a separate thread on this and some people did and several people did (including one person who had to have it hard wired and drilled through holes). Being of bad health I am not keen to go through this rigmorole but may have to end up trying. Certainly be too late for games in near future.

@Garrymanilow I couldn’t watch the Barnsley game last night on sky go, but logged into sky sports app using sky go username and password and was able to stream the game

So having pretty much established I can't watch the games on my TV with Sky as we only have a Sky+box (not Q). I think my options are:
    1. Download app and watch on my mobile (hardly watchable really tbh)
    2. Get a VPN, work out how to convince it I'm international (?), subscribe to Charlton TV: this would let me watch on my laptop but not my TV (still not ideal if 3 of us)
    3. I think there may be a 3rd option. Subscribe to Now TV with sky sports. This seems to be £14.99 for daily or £34.99 for a month. Think I can then get this via an app on my Smart TV. Although think maybe it's £6 a month extra for HD (not available on daily).  Maybe take a daily as a short solution until we can get sky sorted.

Be interested in anybody's comments, particularly if anyone has used Now TV

Bit late to the party on this. Can someone explain what SKY's thinking is? Are they trying to free up Saturday 3pm for live PL games?
The whole thing is a play to get lower league clubs to agree to remove the 3pm blackout, imo.

I haven’t read the Charlton tv thread. Are curbs, minto and brown still on it?

is this available in England, or is a vpn needed?

Offside, but a horrible miss from Oxford when they could have made it 1-0

Watching pompey hoping they'd look good. Leeds hit the bar 3 times in first 7 minutes and now conceded a penalty to go one down.

I presumed you meant that Leeds had conceded a penalty at first.

VPN needed (certainly for Saturday games). No Curbs and co, but the match coverage starts at 5pm. Terry, Greg and Peter Shirtliff on commentary.

Yep, you need a SkyGo account but it runs through the Sky Sports app. Which is extremely irritating as the app appears to be the only way to pick between the games. That means I can't pick the game on PS5 or on laptop and my TV is too old for me to cast my phone onto it. Don't fancy sitting squinting at my phone screen all day but here we are. The fact they've made this so ridiculously difficult to actually access is unbelievable

I think we helped Pompey develop some resilience last week.
