Comparing the 2 'broadcast' methods, CharltonTV was a jerky picture today while SkySports+ was perfect. The latter was 2 seconds behind CharltonTV for me.
Out of curiosity, did Charlton TV cut off at 90 mins as well?

No. Luckily I'd left it running on my laptop after turning off vpn.
Have Sky made any comment about the fact that all of the red button EFL games went down at the same time yesterday? I've had a quick look online but couldn't see anything.
In fairness I would imagine there's a lot to it, coordinating all of those outside broadcasts at the same time. But they used to be really good at everything they did football-wise, but that certainly isn't the case now.
Soccer Saturday has been going downhill for years as it is, but yesterday seemed even more shambolic with long periods where nobody seemed to know what was going on - and I don't just mean when Clinton O'Morrison was talking!
So having pretty much established I can't watch the games on my TV with Sky as we only have a Sky+box (not Q). I think my options are: 1. Download app and watch on my mobile (hardly watchable really tbh) 2. Get a VPN, work out how to convince it I'm international (?), subscribe to Charlton TV: this would let me watch on my laptop but not my TV (still not ideal if 3 of us) 3. I think there may be a 3rd option. Subscribe to Now TV with sky sports. This seems to be £14.99 for daily or £34.99 for a month. Think I can then get this via an app on my Smart TV. Although think maybe it's £6 a month extra for HD (not available on daily). Maybe take a daily as a short solution until we can get sky sorted.
Be interested in anybody's comments, particularly if anyone has used Now TV
For option 2 last season I connected my laptop to my TV with a thunderbolt to HDMI cable
I was told by my “friend” that the best way is to
Get a VPN and then purchase Charlton TV.
Yesterday my “friend” forgot where he was living and all the time he thought was living in England, he couldn’t purchase the match, but once his wife told him to move abroad, he moved to Germany, and he tried again and this time he successfully purchased the match pass.
He then connects his IPad to his TV through a connector cable, connected to TV, HDMI input.
@Garrymanilow I couldn’t watch the Barnsley game last night on sky go, but logged into sky sports app using sky go username and password and was able to stream the game
Yep, you need a SkyGo account but it runs through the Sky Sports app. Which is extremely irritating as the app appears to be the only way to pick between the games. That means I can't pick the game on PS5 or on laptop and my TV is too old for me to cast my phone onto it. Don't fancy sitting squinting at my phone screen all day but here we are. The fact they've made this so ridiculously difficult to actually access is unbelievable
That's about where we are too.
Managed to get through to Sky ( in India of course) & after being transferred a couple of times, found there's no way we can access the games - we also have an old TV & Sky Signature package inc the full Sky Sports.
Thought I'd cracked it when found prices for Sky Stream on their website which would mean a few pounds more than we're currently paying each month but with Netflix included , saving us £11.
"Ah, that's only for NEW Sky customers !" I was told.
No discounts then for VIP customers ( whatever that means ) of 20 years !
Back to the VPN later today but investigating one of those dongle thingies....
This is something young people don't understand. We are conditioned to think, due to our age, that loyalty deserves reward. It is how it used to work. It is no longer the case today and I would suggest two things. Firstly, the quality of the people you ring varies so try somebosy else to see if you can get the deal to keep your custom. If your contract has ended or ends soon, you have some leverage. If that brings no joy, try one more time and then if no luck, change provider when you can. It isn't ignoring that most of the other providers are just as bad, but new customers are valued more than loyal ones. I am likely to move to Sky in January and have told Virgin as such in case they decide to try to keep me.
Spot on!.... I have really no time for any of these broadcasters, Loyalty... you are having a laugh, they just want your money I am afraid. The joke of it is that in there greed to fleece there subscribers, they are driving people to use/obtain a fire stick, unless they want to pay shed loads of money. I thought this would cause issues, which is why I posted several pages back, I will try and go back to sky IF they offer me a reasonable deal in March, ( they seem to contact me very week) . Frankly, I have no faith in either Sky or Virgin, all they seem to want is new customers. As I posted previously 25 years as a Sky customer counted for nothing in my case last year, and although the deal at Virgin is reasonable value, that will be going up, so 6 weeks before the contract ends I will be waving good bye to them, and probably joining Sky, or get the' Firestick'. All seems a very stupid customer services policy, why not reward you loyal customers!
Lots of posts I've skimmed through, but anyone know if you can watch on sky go?
No you cant... Just download the Sky Sports App instead
Thanks mate, can you then just log in with your sky go?
Same username and password yes.
Brilliant, I'm in! Thanks mate.
Let's see if you're still just as happy after the match!
Yes mate, I was! Although....the stream cut out a couple of times during the game (I missed Mitchell's head injury and the subs we made on 70 odd mins). It then also cut out just past 90mins only returning to see NJ celebrating with the fans. Bit fucking annoying tbh and I probably wouldn't bother with it again. I just needed a Charlton fix lol thanks @SELR_addicks and @ForeverAddickted for your help 😀
The one really annoying thing with watching on a mobile was that you couldn't minimise the screen and send messages while continuing to watch the game in the corner. You can do that with the Prem games on sky go and it works fine. 1st world problems I know, but it's handy to be able to send updates to mates who aren't watching. "We're shit" "the refs a wanker" " sack the board" etc haha!

You've got "mates"?
😉
Haha! This is awkward, I was messaging them at half time and full time! See you Saturday?
My predictable and nothingy response from Sky (via their Twitter help address):
‘Hello Nick, thanks for getting in touch with us and sorry to see you were having problems with Sky Sports+ last night mainly watching Wigan v Charlton. We are aware of an issue affecting multiple games including this one, were the stream ended prematurely at 90 minutes.
Our teams are currently investigating the root cause and will make sure this doesn't happen again. We'll keep you updated with any further updates and apologise for the inconvenience caused by this.

Well not exactly informative but at least you got a reasonable enough apology.
Emailed Sky. I hope a lot of others did as well so they can see how many people are pissed off.
I think it safe to presume that they will know that everyone viewing was pissed off.
It is inconceivable that they seemed to have programmed all the games to shut off around 105 minutes from kick off, give or take a few minutes ……hence not taking into account adding on extra time. I expect there’s more to it than that but that’s how it appears to me. Unbelievable Jeff.🤨
Is the Orient game on sky+ am out and about this weekend so wont be able to make it to the valley but might be able to find a quiet corner to watch the game on my phone on Saturday if it's on

The first 90 minutes will be. Whether the added time is included this week remains to be seen.
