Mitchell and Berry look like cracking signings, Edwards and Mannion, could yet turn out to be great.
Nobody wants to see the top scorer go but it’s going to happen.
Move on and hope we get the deals done that we need
We have seen in the last four/five seasons what impact late recruitment can have. We need to hit the ground running and to do that the squad needs pre season to gel and take onboard what NJ wants to do. League One is going to be a lot tougher than it was last year and seemingly a few teams are willing to spend relatively big (Brum, Hudds, Bolton to name three) and we are already starting from a very low base. I trust NJ but I’m not sure I trust the SMT/Owners to back him sufficiently.4 -
May being announced Wednesday1

Wednesday May be an announcement8

Elthamaddick said:I’m sure every manager would love all their signings done and dusted before pre season starts. Maybe NJ was a bit naive to actually come out and state it or maybe he actually believed it was possible….we’ll never know. Pretty sure though there’s masses going on behind the scenes to get bodies in (and not just squad players)
the fact now is that pre season has started and the squad isn’t all there, all the posts constantly fucking banging on about Jones stating he wanted all his business done by now are really boring…
I’m confident we’ll see 3/4 first XI starters walk through the door over the next few weeks
As for Nathan Jones' utterings I will say the following -
If he truly believed in what he said then he was either deluded or not backed by the owners (ie, there was no hope of him getting the players he wanted)
Or
He was just saying it to please the fans.

Windows come and windows go and the only constant is our team is weaker at the end of the window than it was at the start.Need players in now for pre season and the start of the season not after 4 games and desperate loans19

Fucking hurry up Wednesday!3

Imagine if NJ starts getting tipped for the Wales job!

Davies won’t be our new GK. Hope we’ve been working on other options.

All Bill Gates' fault I imagine...1 -
I got a message yesterday saying we're in for Joe Lumley from Southampton. I thought it was bull as I thought we were going to sign Davies but maybe it's true. Unreliable source to be honest but thought I'd share.2

So that’s a no for Davies and Ruddy, Walton looks unlikely. Who’s 4th choice?
Would love Jensen but I can’t see us spending a big fee on a keeper.0 -
I assume his wages would be crazy now but maybe a loan possibility on subsidised wages if he has no chance of making the Burnley team.... Lawrence Vigouroux?0

Would prospective players be put off seeing us sell League 1’s best striker?6

Imagine if we were not bold and aggressive!
I hope the window gets better and quick because so far, it is as crap as usual.
We'll probably be in mid-table, we'll start seeing posts on here saying that Jones should go, which'll eventually be echoed from the stands.
He'll get sacked, and then we'll be right back here again in the summer, because failing to back the Manager the last 4-years has worked so well - Rinse and repeat. Wont ever be the fans fault though, even though the actions behind sacking the Manager will be as a result of the fans voting with their feet.
Watch for the first “In Jones we trust” change tune.1 -
