It wouldn’t make sense. You’re not going to get millions for him despite his goalscoring record because of his age. We have in May a striker who is proven and ready for now not the future.
If we keep hold of May , Kanu and Leaburn I think the new striker will be the long term replacement for Aneke. Aneke now only has one year left on his contract and no way will it be extended
Aneke has been written off two or three a season since he joined Charlton. He keeps proving people wrong.
People haven't necessarily been writing him off as such, but they were saying we should get rid of him. This was hard to do as he was on a long contract on good money. He is now entering the last year of his contract so talking about his eventual replacement makes sense.
If rumours are to be believed he passes the CL height test Fits in with the type of player we are interested in (positionallly, culturally, size) and from the footage Ive seen he looks like he could be very interesting indeed

Honestly I’d rather someone like Bair or Etete than JCH at this point. The latter is only looking for a payday and his best seasons are probably behind him.
One thing that steers me away from it being Bair is the fact that the Scottish season isn’t done yet. Doesn’t stop conversations from happening, especially because Motherwell aren’t playing for anything at this point.
But it makes it less likely than it being a player on the the fringes of a Cardiff or Swansea squad.
The other name that fits the rumoured profile is Jamal Lowe…

I hope not. Not particularly big and last seen in England at Burton scoring 1 goal in a season and a half.
This was hard to do as he was on a long contract on good money.
