Meanwhile Southampton have presumably realised how much Liverpool were willing to spend and can hold out for more for Lavia.Chris_from_Sidcup said:Caicedo has apparently rejected Liverpool and told them he is only interested in joining Chelsea.3 -
Feel a bit sorry for Tyler Adams. Chelsea had agreed a fee and he'd done his medical and was ready to sign but now Caicedo has done a u-turn on the Liverpool move, Chelsea have apparently said thanks but no thanks.0

As I said at the time. Those who loled have a look at yourself.
’IF Kane decides he doesn’t wanna go….”
Kane decided he did wanna go, meaning everything else is irrelevant.0 -
Seemed a bit of an odd deal in the first place - Is Adams really at that level?Chris_from_Sidcup said:Feel a bit sorry for Tyler Adams. How the hell Chelsea can fund a £100m transfer whilst staying on top of FFP, when they are not even in Europe, and with a stadium (soon) to be 20,000 smaller than Anfield, and with a much smaller global support, is totally baffling.3

They've made £220m from Transfers this summer... £33m received from Saudi ArabiaDamoNorthStand said:How the hell Chelsea can fund a £100m transfer whilst staying on top of FFP, when they are not even in Europe, and with a stadium (soon) to be 20,000 smaller than Anfield, and with a much smaller global support, is totally baffling.
Although thats still dwarfed by their spending last season.0 -
Almost all of their deals are spread across long contracts, for example Mudryk and Enzo are on something like 8 year contracts. So even though they cost close to 200m combined, for FFP this is around 25m a year on FFP.DamoNorthStand said:How the hell Chelsea can fund a £100m transfer whilst staying on top of FFP, when they are not even in Europe, and with a stadium (soon) to be 20,000 smaller than Anfield, and with a much smaller global support, is totally baffling.
Clubs complained about it, so the rule is now a 5 year maximum but as Chelsea had already done it before the rule was changed they're in the clear.
Then they sold Mount and Loftus-Cheek for about 60m combined so in the eyes of FFP that's a 60m profit as they were youth team players. So even though they spent 200m on 2 players, and received 60m for 2 players, instead of seeing it as a 140m net spend (which it is), in the eyes of FFP that would be seen as a 35m profit for this year.0 -

Agreed. I don't understand Chelsea's transfer business, when they are stacked with decent midfielders. All they needed to blow the budget on was a top number 9ForeverAddickted said:

Big season for Foden I think.... needs to cement a spot in the team now Mahrez has left and the likes of Silva and De Bruyne aren't getting any younger.2

Especially as Nkunku is out for three monthskillerandflash said:

Surprised Zaroury isn't starting for Burnley.0

Interesting watching the build up tonight quite a few American investors in Burnley being interviewed. Maybe this multi yank investor model works ??2

Remember the Burnley takeover, and it sounded at the time as though they could be bang in trouble.AndyG said:Interesting watching the build up tonight quite a few American investors in Burnley being interviewed. Maybe this multi yank investor model works ??

Which is why they hoover up talent at youth level. Even just selling one for a couple of million helps towards it allChris_from_Sidcup said:

"Haaland doesn't seem like he's in the game at all, it's almost like all he does is score goals"
No shit, it's literally his job10 -
I assume no one has ever held the lead in the golden boot standings from the 4th minute of the season right through to the finish. good chance it happens this year6
