Lost this Test now I reckon.
Aussies get a lead of 100+ by close tomorrow.0 -
Stop the match. We're 43 overs into the Test and Golfie's called it...golfaddick said:Lost this Test now I reckon.

Went to the shops and suddenly we're 7 down. Fantastic.0

Apart from the last one and a half Test matches you mean?lancashire lad said:I hope the Aussies win as it might prove that our approach to test cricket, while entertaining, is not suitable win a 5 day test match
Sime say the Bazball believers are weird. Actively hoping England lose an Ashes Test to prove yourself right is next level though…6 -
Except at Headingley, Old Trafford if not for the rain or the 11 of 13 tests before this....lancashire lad said:I hope the Aussies win as it might prove that our approach to test cricket, while entertaining, is not suitable win a 5 day test match4 -
England will be bowling sometime after tea...
Losing quick wickets might not be wholly bad if we can nip a few out tonight.0 -
If we'd poked around in this we could have been rolled for 1504

Can you get someone to deliver next time?ProperCharlton said:Went to the shops and suddenly we're 7 down. Fantastic.6 -

We shout and scream and wail and cry, but in the end, we all must die.golfaddick said:Lost this Test now I reckon.

Decisions, decisions.
When does Stokes declare? Before or after Tea?
And, when we bowl them out before stumps, do we enforce the follow-on in the morning?0 -
I have tickets for Sunday and Monday. The weather on Monday isn't looking good anyway, but it's unlikely the game will last until then...0

We're well in this still. They would've been hoping to get us out for around 250, hopefully our tail gets some runs and we get closer to 300

perhaps you didn't realise that Aussie have retained the Ashes, if our batsmen had not thrown the bat so much in the earlier tests then we would have won the ashes. The Aussies play a better test match game although we play more entertaining cricket.Callumcafc said:

I would rather we won the Ashes, we didn't this is a dead game and really the result is immaterial.1 -
How dare Chris Woakes hit a six. I hope he’s out next ball!3

Turns out it was a four so he can stay in a bit longer. The purity of Test cricket is saved.Callumcafc said:How dare Chris Woakes hit a six. I hope he’s out next ball!5 -

Say the Aussies do bowl us out tonight leaving us 90 mins to bowl at them, you'd have to fancy out bowlers to have a right go at them.3

oh for the days of joe denly poking a 100 ball 30 :<2

Cummins incredibly unlucky to only have 1 wicket today. Easily the pick the bowlers0

You said the England approach is not suitable to win five day Test matches - they’ve won 12 of 17 under Stokes and it most likely would’ve been 13 of 17 without the Manchester weather.lancashire lad said:

If you want to go scorched earth because the Aussies won a couple of close games, I suppose you’re welcome to that.0 -
250 up.
Try and get close to 300 and we will have done well.1 -
Let's be honest here we'd already be bowling if the Aussies warmed up their hands before the game0

Tea. 250-7 from 50 overs
Wood 23 (25)
Woakes 15 (20)0 -
agreed but if I remember we beat SA and NZ both of whom were not at their strongest unlike Oz and IndiaCallumcafc said:

50 overs before tea is appalling even if there is no "weather" its going to be another 10+ overs in the bin, never to be seen again.
