I believe it was a joke last summer from Stokes about sending Broad in with half an hour left of play just to slog. It's now stuckTodds_right_hook said:Where did the term hawk come from?0

Harry Brook really is some player1

Why oh why does Joe Root persist in a reverse sweep, has just gifted his wicket away just before tea, perhaps letting NZ back into the game. Has been a sensational session of cricket “T20 in white” by Root and the dashing Brook.0

That's the way we play test cricket under Stokes & McCullum. It's not conventional & won't always work out, but my god it's exciting to watch!!Why oh why does Joe Root persist in a reverse sweep, has just gifted his wicket away just before tea, perhaps letting NZ back into the game. Whatever happens, if NZ win it will be their highest ever successful run chase

Just need Blundell gone cheaply now.0

What a brilliant selection problem to have with Wood, Archer , Woakes and Sam Curran all not out there and Potts to potentially be used too.

It wasn’t that long ago we were all bemoaning a lack of depth outside of Broad and Jimmy and wondering what the future holds. All of a sudden - things look rosy

Last time an English bowler bowled 1, 2 and 3 was Truman in 1960.
Despite the plaudits they get, I don't think they will be truly appreciated until they ride off into the sun set.
They are still 1st and 3rd in the ODI wickets for England as well.3

Woakes, in England, is a world class bowler. I expect Curran will end up as t20 specialist before long.DamoNorthStand said:It wasn’t that long ago we were all bemoaning a lack of depth outside of Broad and Jimmy and wondering what the future holds. All of a sudden - things look rosy
Edit: don't know why woakes auto corrected to weakest.0

I'm not convinced Archer has a long Test career eitherCafc43v3r said:

            Excellent performance, broadly speaking.0

I have never get the impression he is as loved as much as some far inferior players have been.MrOneLung said:

Unfortunately I agree with @killerandflash about Archer and actually think this summers Ashes could be it for him.0

What a list of legends that is - Starc and Lyon are very good players but feel a little out of place given the other names.1
-
For the Oldies amongst us, Trueman and Statham took 284 wickets in 35 tests. Back when they played there were a lot less test matches.6
-
I’m with you Len. Statistics aren’t everything when you mention Frank Tyson and Brian Statham, then Lindwall and Miller etc etc0
-

They have a better average per game than Broad and Anderson thoughNorth Lower Neil said:What a list of legends that is - Starc and Lyon are very good players but feel a little out of place given the other names.0

Only takes 10 mins for Keach to take the 6th NZ wicket, 68/6, this could be a very short day's play0
-
Anderson gets 2 in 2 balls to make 71-80
-
Ooooo.... a bit of a stand for the 10th wicket. 15 runs at the drinks break. That's the 2nd highest all innings.0
-
            Very comfortable win.0
-
Meanwhile Australia have collapsed from 85-2 to 110-8 against India in their second innings.2
