Yes he had a very good career (though not as good as he thinks), but to sit and read a news article on the honours list and then sit there stewing enough that you draft a rebuttal is such a strange way to spend an afternoon.
Rooney hasn't got any honours, for example, and he's England's (joint now) record goalscorer.

I went to a lunch where Sol Campbell and Michael Owen were talking about their careers. Campbell actually did a great job of being more boring than Michael Owen and that’s a very high bar!

Such an odd mix of ego and paranoia.
According to him at various points, he should have been England captain, a Premier League manager, major of London, and given a knighthood.
Oh and praised for his bravery in telling Spurs he would stay if they appointed Hoddle, then signing for Arsenal for free instead.

Relatively speaking, there's people all over the country who have achieved more, and who piss all over his '20 year commitment' to football, who haven't had any acknowledgement, or been paid a penny for their trouble. Must be really difficult committing to something that makes you very wealthy.

I can't understand where this constant need for approval comes from, Sol Campbell at his best (and he had a prime of, id say, 98-2005) was one of the best CB's in premier league history, I think only a fool would disagree. Can he not be happy with that ? Wayne Rooney is probably the most talented English players of all time and won a lot more doesn't have a knighthood why should Sol Campbell ??0
