4th seed Tsitsipas has lost in four sets to Colombian qualifier Daniel Galan.
10th seed Fritz has also lost in four sets to American qualifier (and son of Tracy Austin) Brandon Holt. Holt had to get a wildcard for the qualifiers and now he’s beaten the top American in the main draw.
Almost happened simultaneously.
Both of those seeds were in Murray’s quarter of the draw. Great news for him, and the remaining top seeds in that quarter: Berrettini (13) and Ruud (5).3 -

A decent run here for Draper and Murray and they both could hit the top 40 in terms of ranking.2 -
And Serena progressed to the 2nd round in her farewell event, beating Montenegro's Danka Kovinic in straight sets

Hope Raducanu does well - her ranking will crash with an early exit here.0

She is currently world no. 79 on the live rankings, two places ahead of Harriet Dart at 81. Winning today would push her (Raducanu) up five places to 74.

Murray #46
Draper #50
Draper faces Felix Auger-Aliassime in the next round which may be a step too far at this stage of his career. While I'm hopeful that Murray can win against American wildcard and world no. 200 Emilio Nava.0 - Sponsored links:

Although it is against the rules at most tournaments, i've noticed that there's a rule change here and players will now be allowed to receive coaching from the stands during the tournament.

Raducanu’s win last year beginning to look like the biggest flash in the pan in the history of sport. Too much too soon? Cant believe how quickly and spectacularly she has fallen.2

Last year's win was a huge outlier, but I think it'd be seen as OK if it wasn't for that win - she's beating people outside of the top 50, say, and losing to those inside, needs to improve next year, etc.

Raducanu's win was a reflection of how open the Women's game is - the last 12 Grand Slam titles have been won by 9 different players. This isn't an era where three or four players are clearly so much better than the rest - compare that to the Men's game where the big three have won 63 of the last 73 titles in the last 18 years.
That isn't to say that Raducanu wasn't worthy of winning the US title last year, because she was, but unless she brings some consistency to her game then it will be hard for her to do. Her age, experience and numerous distractions in the last year including her change of coaches, rapid fame and all the off the court activities that come with it won't have helped either.2 -

Raducanu is a top 100 player who hopefully can work her way back up the rankings.1
