  • Murray determined to make a fight of it.
  • Murray breaks for a 1-0 lead in the fourth set
  • Can’t hold onto it. 1-1 and back on serve.
  • Good news for Draper though. Wins the second set to level it up.
  • Berrettini was always going to be a big ask for Murray but glad he went down fighting.
  • Draper had to take a medical time out but is back on court and just broke serve for a 4-2 lead in the third set.
  • Draper struggling with this niggle and lost his break of serve.
  • Draper loses another service game. This is going badly wrong, should probably think about retiring.

  • Draper retires at 6-5 down in the third set.
  • Shame but a great performance to reach the last 32. Sad ending to it but a positive tournament for him overall.

Serena loses. I get and admire what she achieved. I also understand the pomp and ceremony shown at the US Open celebrating her though, as is always the way, the Americans continue to struggle to know how to behave towards anyone that’s not ‘their own’. The way Tomjlanovic was treated, you’d have thought that she lost the match. Lucky for them, she was eventually interviewed after being made to wait for Serena’s goodbye and I thought she gave a superb, humble, complimentary speech which the crowd loved. It’s gonna be embarrassing though when Serena continues playing and is back again next year. I’m convinced that she never 100% said she was retiring and now has been backed into something of a corner to do so after all of the accolades, speeches, tributes and goodbyes have taken place. Watch this space!
  • Good effort by Andy,Berrettini when fully fit is a top 6 player, who will give anyone a hard time.Thought Andy handled his serve quite well, but his own serve was really not up to it,double at vital times and a very low percentage of first serves.Still thik he can do well in the lesser competitions but 5 setters in grand slams look a bridge too far.One other thing, can the stewards not get a grip on spectators continually poncing about while players are waiting too play, make them wait for intervals in between games such ignorance only found at the USA open.

What Murray has achieved is incredible after surgery but I'm not sure if he can achieve much more. His serve is still a problem and in terms of movement he can't reach previous peaks.

Feel really sorry for Draper having to retire - looks to have a great future.

  • Norrie v Rublev is schedule for a 4pm U.K. start tomorrow.
  • 1-1 and two routine holds of serve to start Norrie v Rublev.
  • Rublev breaks to lead 5-4 and will serve for the first set.
  • Rublev takes it 6-4.
  • Rublev breaks again for a 2-1 lead in the second set. Norrie not really playing well at all.
  • Rain delay now. Has been for the last 20 minutes or so. Roof has been closed and the ball kids are drying up the excess moisture with a load of white towels… seems a very disorganised operation.
  • Rublev now two sets up. 6-4 6-4
  • Worst I've seen him play to date
  • Rublev breaks again. Looking like the end of the road for Norrie unless he can up his level.
  • Unforced error, after unforced error.
