Off to Sumner's Ponds next weekend. Any colder weather tips to ensure more catches?

Off to a campsite with a fishable river, any tips for someone used to primarily carp fishing?

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

Would’ve been a little more informative if you’d said which river? 😉
For example the bottom of the Thames, I’d suggest magnet fishing for guns, knives or car parts and shopping trolleys.
The middle quiver tipping for bream and alike.
The top end, trotting or feeder for chub and some barbel.
It’s been a few years since I’ve fished but I doubt much has changed.

Son caught this today common carp 66.8 lb ( all I know it’s some where near Watford).

That is something to be proud of, the British record is only 68lbs, I bet they keep the name of the venue close to their chests

On the match lake at Sumner's today... Wish they'd told us there was a match on half the lake today and had another full lake match yesterday.
    Beautiful day though.
