The Grapevine post basically says
- We had different targets over the summer. Some signed, some didn't
- Some are younger so longer-term thinking
- Some are shorter-term as we need to cover injuries and push up the league
That could have summed it up pretty much. But it's less easy to drop in references to "business operational need," "corporate strategy" and his "career of building businesses" if it's not dressed up in the big essay ; )9 -

Stephen Henderson confirmed on a one year contract6 -
Wow, shocked at this given the comments about the emergency loan. Strong squad now!2
-
Stephen Henderson has signed on a year deal.0
-
So we still have one loan slot unused, and don't need it for an emergency loan keeper3

This thread is now on it’s last legs. :-(0

Just cant use that now until Januarykillerandflash said:So we still have one loan slot unused, and don't need it for an emergency loan keeper1 -
It's their places in the squad, Clare has already played more than Shinnie did, under Adkins, there was no role for Shinnie.killerandflash said:You can call Dobson a Pratley replacement, but the same could be said of Clare, as Pratley wasn't just a holding midfielder, he could do box to box as well
I wouldn't call Clare the Shinnie replacement, if anything his role as the creative passer and dead ball taker has been taken by Morgan.
Clare if anything is an alternative to Gilbey who was our box to box midfielder last season0 -
Tbh I have lost track but Henderson signing has surprised me a bit. Surely we must be over the squad limit now ?0

Probably the most facile comment I have ever read because all of it can be used to describe every operational organisation on the planet but ignores detail, interdependencies, context, timing, market influences and conditions, personnel, nuance, fundamental to each specific organisation.Neil_Heaney said:The Grapevine post basically says

What book are you reading Project Management 101, where the first 6 pages of every project are the same?9 -
Think we are still one over even with goalies excluded. I expect JFC not to be included and we can then re-evaluate in January.Covered End said:

It was Gilbey who displaced Shinnie last season.Cafc43v3r said:

If Dobson who was MOM v Wigan had not been taken off we would not have lost that game that was match changing moment .. and he was one of the better players v Sheff WedJamesSeed said:
No he hasn’t. Excluding the Papa John’s game, which doesn’t count.RonnieMoore said:
Why Dobson done more then enough to be a first team choice and Clare can play number of rolesScoham said:I could see one of Dobson or Clare going on loan in January if they’re not getting game time and JFCs recovery is on track.8 -

86 people gave their marks, 1 gave him MOM. I wonder who that was......10 -
To be fair to Mr. Ronnie, the game was 0-0 before Dobson went off.I think that overall Statbank mark for Dobson is a bit harsh and he has already become something of a scapegoat. As soon as he was subbed and we went 4-4-2, Wigan ripped through us twice.7

And we could have been 4-0 down by then as well.Callumcafc said:To be fair to Mr. Ronnie, the game was 0-0 before Dobson went off.I think that overall Statbank mark for Dobson is a bit harsh and he has already become something of a scapegoat. As soon as he was subbed and we went 4-4-2, Wigan ripped through us twice.1 -

It consistently surprises me, it shouldn’t, and saddens me slightly, should sadden me more, when posters find the need to be offensive for no apparent reason other than because they can.

We've tried to sign a few younger players who may or may not grow in value, we've stopped loaning potential premier league stars who we help add value to for premier league teams and then we've added some more guaranteed talent who we may be able to buy if we go up - that's it in a nutshell really - i don't think any of it is half as complicated / strategic etc etc as you try to paint it - its a football club !!! We will still end up selling our top up and coming talent until we reach a level that matches their potential and we will be scrapping around with the other 30 or 40 clubs of our size trying to cobble a team together that might get us there in the meantime.Grapevine49 said:

Anyone who’s just waking up from a coma and who wishes to replicate the experience could save an enormous amount of time by reading it and ignoring everything else. 👍
