I wrote this when I was 18, initially as an A Level composition, which I then modified slightly but haven't recorded since.
This is a choral (SSAATTBB) setting of Emily Dickinson's Parting, utilising more modern harmonic techniques.
I also did some more indie stuff back in the day as well but only one track survives! Will dig it out later if anyone's vaguely interested.

Following my bold claim on the 'playing the guitar thread', I thought I'd better post something.

Partly out of necessity - I had to submit a choral and instrumental piece (which was to nobody's surprise a jazz ballad) as coursework! - and also because I felt a modern setting of a nineteenth-century poem was the most appropriate way to try and express Dickinson's unconventionalities, sort of. Also, the ethereal nature of the text leant itself to something Whitacre-ish, I suppose (though I'd never claim to have his compositional elan).EugenesAxe said:
