Trent should be in ahead of Trippier for me. 

To be fair...

Walker, has just won the Premier League
Trippier, could be about to win La Liga
James, is the odd one out in a way but could win the Champions League

Man City and Atletico have both conceded the least amount of goals in their respective leagues this season, whilst Chelsea have the second tightest defence in the Premier League - Although doesnt just come down to the individuals when looking at those stats as Liverpool have been plagued with problems.

Walker is probably the starter out of those three for me, as he's the better going forward and in defence

At least Southgate will have a chance to assess the fitness of his squad during a few training sessions before the 1st June cut off date. Squad announcement is Tuesday 25th May.

Maguire should be fit for Europa League final which is 3 weeks before the Croatia game.

I would have Tomori in the squad over Mings at the moment. Milan fans love him.

It's nothing to do with him not being good enough and everything to do with the system Southgate wants to play. Trent is exceptional with the ball at his feet and a great crosser, but not a great defender. He's often caught out of position and makes poor choices regarding dealing with his man when 1 on 1. The way England set up we go for shape and stability at the back, allowing our array of attacking talent to play expressively while also avoiding getting hit on the counter. This is probably the best way to play international tournaments; the team who makes the fewest mistakes will win, not necessarily the one with the best players. The three full backs apparently ahead of Trent are better defenders while also being capable crossers, and that's what Southgate wants his full backs or wing backs to be. I think it's a good thing that he's focusing on an effective system rather than just picking the best players regardless of balance, that's a mistake we've made in the past too regularly.

I like that team apart from Hendo and Rice in midfield, for me it’s one of the other. That allows you to push foden into the middle three and play either Sterling or Sancho on the right.

Goalkeeper is going to be Pickford. 


Chilwell should be starting. 

Walker should be starting RB

Henderson hasn't played a game in midfield since 2020 so should be sitting on the bench or back home. 

Grealish is also injured so shouldn't be given an automatic start. 

Sancho, Rashford and Sterling should all be on the plane. They all play depending on the formation and opponent Southgate is facing. Sancho to feed Kane, Sterling to play off Kane and Rashford when we're chasing a goal.

He needs to prove that he's back as good as he left. He can do that in training.

Sounds like Trent is the one who isn't going, but I think that's baffling. Probably the best threat from a cross we've had since Beckham and Gerrard?

I think Walker should be first choice after a great year, but Trent seems like an ideal squad option that you can put him on if we are chasing a goal to put balls in the box/set pieces

If TAA doesn’t go that’s just ridiculous. The type of players we have available to us means we might as well just go and attack the Euro’s and there is not a better full-back available at crossing the ball. If James goes instead of him it’s embarrassing in my opinion. What can James do that TAA can’t?

26 man squad makes it a bit easier and having TAA will at least allow us to play a couple of different formations and has played regularly in a top team in the biggest competitions. James has not done that or done that to any kind of level that TAA has shown previously.

If we're drawing 0-0 and the game has 15 minutes to go. I'd much rather have TAA on putting in crosses of high quality than a Chelsea kid because he runs about a lot.

Think that would be harsh on some players to be left out, I really like Bamford for example, and don’t know if I have drastically missed anyone either, but that’s the 26 that come to mind initially.

Unfortunately Pope has been ruled out of the Euros, guess Sam Johnstone will be No.3

Also still expect to see Reece James going ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold

Otherwise reckon you've got the squad spot on, was thinking earlier that Kalvin Phillips would go and Jordan Henderson would stay home because of the latters lack of fitness. The fact we're allowed a squad of 26 means that I'd now include both.
