Not sure Southgate would let slip of that type of info.1

Trent should be in ahead of Trippier for me.0
-
I’m definitely not clued up with who is good in the premier league these days, but surprised to hear Trent may not be classed as someone good enough to be in England squad anymore.0
-
To be fair...
Walker, has just won the Premier League
Trippier, could be about to win La Liga
James, is the odd one out in a way but could win the Champions League
Man City and Atletico have both conceded the least amount of goals in their respective leagues this season, whilst Chelsea have the second tightest defence in the Premier League - Although doesnt just come down to the individuals when looking at those stats as Liverpool have been plagued with problems.
Walker is probably the starter out of those three for me, as he's the better going forward and in defence0 -
Proper sweating on Maguire's fitness aren't we. I know it has been somewhat trendy to bash Maguire on twitter like a lot of opposition fans do but without him our defence looks seriously weak. Eespcially as Godfrey and Tomoroi aren't going to get a look in, our back ups look like being: Mings, Coady or Keane.
Can't help but feel Henderson is being rushed back and it might go against us rather than work in our favour, he probably wont feature for Liverpool this season as well as having spent a lot of the season playing CB. Don't get me wrong, I rate Hendo but we have done this so many times and it rarely works.
At least Southgate will have a chance to assess the fitness of his squad during a few training sessions before the 1st June cut off date. Squad announcement is Tuesday 25th May.1 -

Personally, I would not swap Sterling and Kane for any two attacking players in world football at the moment. If we can these two on form at the euros. Then it is going to be a brilliant summer.
This thread started in February and that tells you all you need to know. There is so much pressure and expectation on the England team. I love the passion and enthusiasm but I don't think it helps -it's a bit like with Sunderland. Then there is a mentality problem with tournaments - staying in a hotel, playing 7 matches etc etc. I can't explain it but it's there.
In France the general public don't take much interest until the 'demi-finales'. The players are under less pressure and are more relaxed. They unfortunately are more likely to win it.
However if we did ever win a bloody tournament I'm hopeful the tide would turn - the passion would work in our favour - and we'd win another one or two.0 -

I would have Tomori in the squad over Mings at the moment. Milan fans love him.1 -

Got to hope that's true on Maguire, still enough time like you say but only just! Europa final is only a week away! If he does feature I would probably assume he's been rushed back but like you say hopefully plenty of rest in between. Its boom or bust without him for us imo.0 - Sponsored links:

Talking to mates and reading online it seems that almost everyone would select Maguire, Stones, Rice, Mount, Foden and Kane.
The spots that are open for debate seem to be:
Which goalkeeper?
Shaw or Chilwell?
Which right back?
Henderson to partner Rice?
Is there room for Grealish?
Sancho, Rashford or Sterling?1 -
Goalkeeper is going to be Pickford.
Chilwell should be starting.
Walker should be starting RB
Henderson hasn't played a game in midfield since 2020 so should be sitting on the bench or back home.
Grealish is also injured so shouldn't be given an automatic start.
Sancho, Rashford and Sterling should all be on the plane. They all play depending on the formation and opponent Southgate is facing. Sancho to feed Kane, Sterling to play off Kane and Rashford when we're chasing a goal.0 -
Grealish has come on as a sub in both Villa's last 2 matches. He will definitely be fit for the Euro's and let's not forget for many months he was one of the league's best players, plus did really well in the last round of internationals.0

Therefore not automatic start.1 -
Don’t think Grealish is an automatic start but he should definitely be in the squad.0
-
Foden has ovetaken Grealish now in terms of the LW position. Going to be great to have Grealish back but I would put my neck out here and say there is no way he will start v Croatia. Not a chance.4

So Trippier is La Liga champion.... and from all accounts has been one of the stand outs for them .
Surely on the plane, and with Walker also going off the back of his ability to play RCB in a back three. That’s one from TAA, James and AWB.
Who goes?0 - Sponsored links:

Sounds like Trent is the one who isn't going, but I think that's baffling. Probably the best threat from a cross we've had since Beckham and Gerrard?
I think Walker should be first choice after a great year, but Trent seems like an ideal squad option that you can put him on if we are chasing a goal to put balls in the box/set pieces0 -

If TAA doesn’t go that’s just ridiculous. The type of players we have available to us means we might as well just go and attack the Euro’s and there is not a better full-back available at crossing the ball. If James goes instead of him it’s embarrassing in my opinion. What can James do that TAA can’t?
26 man squad makes it a bit easier and having TAA will at least allow us to play a couple of different formations and has played regularly in a top team in the biggest competitions. James has not done that or done that to any kind of level that TAA has shown previously.

As it’s been upped to 26, I’ll probably name the first 26 that come to mind...
Pope, Pickford, Henderson
Walker, TAA, Trippier, Maguire, Stones, Mings, Coady, Shaw, Chilwell
Rice, Henderson, Phillips, Bellingham, Mount, Grealish, Foden, Lingard, Sterling, Sancho, Saka
Kane, Calvert-Lewin, Rashford
Think that would be harsh on some players to be left out, I really like Bamford for example, and don’t know if I have drastically missed anyone either, but that’s the 26 that come to mind initially.1 -
If we're drawing 0-0 and the game has 15 minutes to go. I'd much rather have TAA on putting in crosses of high quality than a Chelsea kid because he runs about a lot.0

If you want someone to deliver a ball in the last 15 might as well go for Ward Prowse if that's your rationale.
I'm not against Trent going but personally I wouldn't pick him. He's poor in the air, awful at 1v1 defending and isn't as quick or good at running with the ball as James and Walker. Tripper and James also have better cross accuracy this season so it's not really the end of the world if he doesn't make it in my opinion.3 -

Also still expect to see Reece James going ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold
Otherwise reckon you've got the squad spot on, was thinking earlier that Kalvin Phillips would go and Jordan Henderson would stay home because of the latters lack of fitness. The fact we're allowed a squad of 26 means that I'd now include both.0 -

James may go ahead of Alexander-Arnold, but I’d be disappointed if he does, personally.
Other than players like Ward-Prowse, Ings, Watkins, Bamford, and Greenwood, I don’t think I’ve missed really anyone.1 -
Cheers, my mistake for only looking / misreading the comment on the Nick Pope thread.1

I can see James getting the gig as Gareth is nothing but obstinate. Whilst I would expect Walker or Trippier to start because Southgate has faith in them (and they've had great seasons), Trent offers something special should we find ourselves down and in a position where defending is not the highest priority.
Will cheer them on whoever he picks but am expecting a strange selection.
On a different note pleased Gunter has been rewarded with a place.0
