Always wondered about "The Cowleys", are they really a duo in everything they do, ain't they allowed out on their own or something, it seems, you want Danny you have to have his brother.

I will be happy with any manager that never plays Pratley/Watson in the same side ever again. JJ is 1-0 up on that front, but seriously, progressive, attacking football with more emphasis on younger players a must. Other than tickets, merch etc, I am not blowing any of my hard earned money away, so am patiently waiting to see who the man with the clear ambition, objectives and significant investment wants & when named they will have my full support. If objectives are not realised, we know what happens next and so the next will get that same support... I really do think we are now on a positive journey and suspect we will be adequately armed to realise our goals whoever is in charge.
I am no more an expert of Adkins’ managerial capabilities, as I am JJ’s. All I want is to follow our great club, see some decent football and have a return to those wonderful memories of the Premiership years, whether Jensen’s chip at Arsenal or Lisbie’s Liverpool hat trick. No sentiment here unfortunately but hope JJ remains part of the set up if that is what he wants.
If Jacko goes and we end up with Adkins I'll be gutted.

Honest question. What do you know about Nigel Adkins and have you done any research about his previous experience?
If so why do you think he is washed up and that a club legend, who has been involved in 2 relegations, once as a captain and once as an assistant manager, and has no direct managerial experience will be a better option.
Just for reference my preference would be to give Jackson the job until the end of the season and see what he can do. But am completely miffed as to why posters are so quick to write of Adkins but then want to give the job to Jackson.
Why did you cut out JJ’s two promotion??? Did you see how all the players went to JJ after Bauer scored the winner at Wembley??? No one went to Bowyer. Very poor comment by you
My Saints supporting mate with this to say about Adkins when I asked:
'Good mate. Ioved him. Was sad when he left. Nice and attacking.'
And to add to this, my Reading supporting mate in the same group said:

Sheff U - Sounds like they were in the hunt for the playoffs until a couple of weeks before the end of the season where they lost to Coventry and then mathematically couldn't make the playoffs. Last game of the season got beat and then sounds like a Karanka/Bowyer Brum situation - "in the morning they had sacked Nigel Adkins. By dinner time Chris Wilder was the new man in charge."

Im just trying to have an honest debate with you so I would appreciate instead of reverting to calling my comment poor, which I don't think it was, you answer my questions. Remember this is coming from someone who wants Jackson to be given a chance to the end of the season.

Why is Nigel Adkins never mentioned these days? Steered Scunny to promotion, then Southampton from League One to the Prem. He's a 'thinker' - wears serious spectacles - which means he might not suit us...
As said I am not remotely excited for Adkins but if that who it is he gets my support in the same way every other manager has.

Nothing about what he had done since Southampton makes me think he is anything other than a average manager a bit like a lower league Steve Bruce safe and steady.
I could be miles of and if he joins he changes my opinion and like I said he would have my backing from the start but personally would not be my choice not even in the top 10.
AFKA put a good post up earlier which properly sums it up perfectly in that maybe I want to much and given time and thought I might warm to it.
Just because JJ Has been around for while doesn’t entitle him to a go at the managers job, remember he has been part of a struggling side. Even though bowyer has had the final say we would assume,JJ wanting to be a no.1 should of been able to have an influence on bowyers decisions. If that didn’t happen would it be fair to question whether he would be strong enough as a manager. ( I know, none of really know what’s been going on).I think we need something new and by all means keep jacko in as an assistant for now.I along with all Charlton fans think JJ is a great bloke and was a cracking player for us, I was so chuffed for him last night particularly when he got choked up in the post match interview. Which is why more so than bowyer I wouldn’t want it to go tits up for him. Maybe sit tight for now Jacko and be around if it doesn’t work out for the new manager.

2 years ago is a long time in football as was his success at Soton maybe 10 years ago.
Powell and Curbs had no track record but had the support of us fans • one of our own” So maybe JJ doesn’t know it all ? Maybe he doesn’t want it ? But boy he’s been with us through the bad times as you say and the good times as I remember and as he said last night it’s a rollercoaster.
Personally I would give him a chance to the end of the season and let’s leave the out of work so called managers in their garden to then! Just a thought!
Adkins looks like he could be Wallace's twin brother (of Wallace & Grommit). Its being done very quickly, probably been in the works in the background.
Contrary to the vast majority of comments I've seen on here today, I think Adkins would be a great appointment for where we're at currently. With Thomas' backing and his attacking style, I really think we could be a far better side than we have been for years. He's a better manager than Bow, no doubt in my mind about that.
Not in the know in anyway but I also have a hunch TS is going to surprise us all. He is a bit of a maverick with a kind of calculating crazy side. I'm excited at the moment to see what he is going to pull off. Unless ofcourse it has all happened very quickly and he has asked Ged to sort it for him ( which I doubt ) roll on friday I cant wait
