Wait till you hear about this kid called Alfie Doughty, 3 goals in 40 playing as a winger also, must be a bad player.Lincsaddick said:2 goals in 33 games for Kilmarnock .. this, IF it happens is a seriously underwhelming signing

We need pace, which he has. You’re no mug if you captain the Liverpool u23’s regularly. Welcome addition and I think he’ll do well.9

On the other hand, Lincs, we've got a lot of long-in-the-tooth experienced players and we desperately need some pace and energy. Let's at least give the kid a chance and hope he brings that to the side. But I do agree with you that we are reliant on Bowyer to actually have some faith in him and use him effectively.Lincsaddick said:CafcWest said:

we need EXPERIENCED players not wet behind the ears kids whose premier 'home' clubs are pleased to get out the door to get experience AT OUR EXPENSE .. if you think that Millar will be a game changer for us then you are just dumb and desperate .. we have a very good winger on the books who Bowyer doesn't pick so why clutter up the playing staff and lumber the wage costs with loan players that are surplus to requirements ? .. IF Millar comes and proves integral to a promotion drive, then you will have my apologies .. BUT don't expect that to happen any time soon, if EVER .. have a nice dayRedrobo said:
Who were you expecting, and why are you ‘seriously’ underwhelmed? How many times have you seen him play? How fast is he and what’s his style of play?Lincsaddick said:2 goals in 33 games for Kilmarnock .. this, IF it happens is a seriously underwhelming signing11 -
Agreed and IF he comes will have my full support (even from the armchair) .. my main beef is that we are rubbish in defence and up front a t m .. and the first news of signings is about a relatively untried ON LOAN winger .. my reaction to that is seriously, W T FDavo55 said:

Latest, injured whilst lifting pen to sign loan form. Has fallen out with Bowyer after Bows, has told him he is covering at Centre Back. Charlton life poll says to short, not fit, doesn’t score goals, but could look good at the end of the bench with all the other players who have ability.Stepping stone to something better, like a loan to Cambridge United.Apparently we owe him one. From Liverpool and recovered all the Range Rovers single handed, with nothing more than a lolly stick.3

I suspect there's not too many super experienced players under the age of 21 out there, and with the cap to consider that's all we can realistically look for. It's not like we have the freedom of the Football League to go out and get people in with these rules. Millar could prove integral to us even if it's not by his own direct performance. If having a pacy outlet similar to Doughty encourages Bowyer to change the shape and start playing with more width and focus less on defensive line-ups then his impact will be felt throughout the entire team just by him being thereLincsaddick said:CafcWest said:

Reminds me of the old Covered End days, when after an appalling refereeing decision, we'd all sing:Bedsaddick said:Who is his father ?
"Whos your father, who's your father, who's your father, referee .....?
You ain't got one, you're a b*stard, you're a b*stard referee!"

I will put my faith in SG and his judgment.0 -

I for one am extremely pleased we've signed a winger. A much needed signing in a problem area for us.
I mean it's not as if we had one of the divisions best wingers sat on the bench for 90 minutes at the weekend.17 -
I remember we were linked with him very late on in the last window, in the last hour or so. No chance it could’ve happened in that timeframe but we must’ve had interest for a while.Edit: this is that article mentioning us wanting him. https://www.goal.com/en-ie/amp/news/liverpool-elliott-to-join-blackburn-on-loan/10k6pa3fpj84512zspg58u0vhb?__twitter_impression=true0

Do you think one of our creative players who sit on the bench each game is leaving us, or is this to add to the collection?4

For those who know such things. What’s Millar like ? Should we be excited or underwhelmed or somewhere in between.0

It doesn't matter who we sign (being realistic ).
Unless Bowyer changes his defensive mindset ( he won't)
We shall have no chance of promotion this season.
In fact I have already written this season off.
Next season is a different matter. With a good summer transfer window under Mr.Sandgaard I expect us to walk league one next season.
Wheather Bowyer will be here to oversee this I have no idea.3 -
If the wage cap still exists next season we will still be in this problem of having money to spend but not being able to spend it because you just won't be able to bring in the players you want on the wages you are able to pay. There aren't too many players out of contract on the summer that you can get rid of to free up their wages.......with the over riding factor that any existing ones (like Pearce) is heavily discounted due to the "cap" on existing players wages.blackpool72 said:It doesn't matter who we sign (being realistic ).

I keep tell you all......we are screwed. And the main reason why if you have a chance to go up you need to grasp it with both hands & not dither about with a manger intent on defensive play !!1 -

Playing style[edit]
Millar's preferred position is as a number nine, but he has been utilised in various roles with Liverpool due to his flexibility. He has been noted for his ability on the left flank.[29] In August 2016, manager Neil Critchley said: "He's a goalscorer. He can run down the side of defenders, he runs in behind, he gives them real problems with his movement and he's a good finisher off both feet. He's got a good brain, good awareness, very calm and can finish. He's a good player, a good all-round player."[8]

It sounds like young Liam Millar is intended to be this season's Leko or Green wild card.Mrs. Brightside said:from wikiPlaying style[edit]

This boy ain't going to be playing much football in a Bowyer team out wide.

We've been crying out for some pace in the side all season. Hope he tracks back and works hard off the ball otherwise I fear Bowyer won't play him much.

Fingers crossed this sort of signing will give him a bit of faith in our attacking players. I really don’t know why Bowyer seems so defensive in his set up at the moment.blackpool72 said:It doesn't matter who we sign (being realistic ).

I welcome this signing like most others, and I’ll give him a chance. If he genuinely has a bit of pace and can operate effectively out wide it could be a decent signing. Bogle and Washington aren’t capable of running the wings like Taylor could. We need someone to stretch a defence0 -
Do you know, I had a dream ...... the real Omar Bogle.Mrs. Brightside said:He's got a good brain, good awareness, very calm and can finish.

You have obviously forgotten about the salary wage cap. A decent experienced player will expect to be paid. Millar is a youngster who won't count toward the salary cap. Wish some people would get real!Lincsaddick said:CafcWest said:
