Walshie was quite a solid lad and not short either, that'll be like a nightshirt on you! 😉ElfsborgAddick said:
I'll swap you for Danny Green's 'poppy' shirt at the Halifax FA Cup game.Carl Leaburn said:
Ancona was definitely the first time Viglen appeared on the away shirt. I was there and lucky enough to get Colin Walsh's match shirt that night. I do believe that it was the only time the sponsor was in blue and was black for the rest of the season, but I may be wrong on that. Colin Walsh's shirt from the night is below.Lewis Coaches said:
Off the top of my head that white shirt was first worn with Viglen on against Ancona away 9/11/93Talal said:
There are some BTTV shirts with Viglen sponsor as I have one. Mine was advertised as match worn anglo-Italian cup (93-94 season) was this shirt only used in that competition? I can only find one "in game" image online of that shirt with Viglen.JohnnyH2 said:

Nowadays a Matty Holmes top would do the trick.RedChaser said:

I have a couple of questions.
Does anyone know when Charlton GK shirts were commercially made available?
Does anyone know if the MESH shirts were commercially available with long sleeves?0 -
I think the MESH were only available as short sleeved.PopIcon said:I have a couple of questions.

I have a long sleeve MESH shirt packed away. I got it at the end of the last season MESH was the sponsor. It was supposed to be for the team to use but wasn’t needed.ElfsborgAddick said:

On the gk shirts I would say early 90’s, the back at the valley green gk shirt was commercially available. 3 -
I was looking at a website that compares things sold on Ebay. I cannot actually believe how cheap shirts were eight or nine years back. Rare matchworn shirts going for £45/£65, those same shirts are worth £250+ in todays market.

2.5 years ago, for £24 I bought a bundle of Charlton stuff on ebay which included a Woolwich home shirt, Viglen goalkeepers shirt, back to The Valley shirt amongst many other scarves/shirts/t-shirts etc. Same bundle today probably £200+ I would guess. Crazy how the old shirt market has boomed, I did wonder if it was partly driven by interest tweaked by the museum auctions on here or whether other clubs are the same.PopIcon said:I was looking at a website that compares things sold on Ebay. The whole market has seen a huge upsurge. I only collect Charlton shirts, but I follow a lot of general shirt collectors on Twitter.Athletico Charlton said:

@Talal has pretty much built his whole #cafc collection during lockdown, heaven knows how much that has cost him.0 -

According to the cafc player, this was 92/92, i thought it was the following season 93/94.

However in the 93/94 season we had that weird shirt numbering that was alphabetical.
In the video Leaburn is wearing 16 of something, but his squad number was 8.

Managed to get my own one. This is Darren Pitchers shirt from the same match.ElfsborgAddick said:

Got this LS David Whyte shirt too. Weird connection that they were both part of the same transfer deal, Pitcher going one way with Whyte incoming. They both sadly passed away at very young ages too.

Very nice shirts. Beat me to it with that guy though I'm expecting to receive a few soon.
That shirt has Endsleigh sleeve badges on, anyone know if they would they have be worn in the anglo-italian cup? Sure I saw a youtube clip of a match the other day and couldn't see badges.0 -
Yep definitely wore badges just seen another clip. So was the blue sponsor only worn once?0
-
Some lovely additions recently.

This isn't an old shirt, only 3 years old, but shows at least how crazy the replica shirt market it currently.

This shirt wont sell for £100, however they are now keeping their value. I think things will settle down a bit over the coming months.MattF said:This isn't an old shirt, only 3 years old, but shows at least how crazy the replica shirt market it currently.

That 86/88 home shirt at £231 is VERY expensive - one of my favourite shirts, but too expensive at that price
What is more annoying is I had that very shirt, and an OSCA Woolwich shirt - gave both away years ago - what an idiot0 -
One went for over £400 a few months ago, in worse condition too! - the market is bonkers at the momentLordflashheart said:That 86/88 home shirt at £231 is VERY expensive - one of my favourite shirts, but too expensive at that price

The shirt being sold this week is the EXACT same one that was bought and sold two weeks ago. I know this as the seller bought the same type of shirt (probably in better condition) off a another chap I know on Facebook.cafc999 said:

I had all the shirts from the first OSCA (including blue and white versions) up until the Mesh one. Most of them got either ripped or worn to death. Wish I'd bloody kept them but at least the Osca ones were auctioned on here a few years ago for the upbeats. The annoying thing is I kept a few other old shirts I had including these 2. My daughter wore it when it took her to England games (I bought a slightly larger modern repro to wear). I've also got a Real Madrid & Spain top from the late 80's somewhere at my mums.Lordflashheart said:That 86/88 home shirt at £231 is VERY expensive - one of my favourite shirts, but too expensive at that price

I was thinking of adding to my collection but set a max budget of £10-15 per shirt about 3 months ago. I have bought 2, both quite modern. I then busted my budget to get a yellow all sports one at about £25 and when it arrives it was a fake. Sod that!0
