Good interview with Gallen on the OS about him2

What interview....? Care to post it...?stonemuse said:Gallen is very happy in his interview ... that’s good enough for me.0 -
I call bullshitSheedyCAFC said:A friend just text me to say Maddison was training with a non league club last week and they said he was “awful and looked like he had never kicked a ball” and said they wouldn’t even have him in their team.3 -
Amazing! He could quite easily be the best player in the division this year, easily capable of playing at a higher level, if Bowyer can get his head in the right place. Hopefully the Summer off has given him some time to think.

Perhaps there is a departure which changes the balance?stackitsteve said:Where does he fit in with the “3 senior players - RB, CB & ST” priority?
Would have thought this deal would cause problems with filling other positions but have so much faith in Bowyer and Gallen I’m just happy to have such a cracking player in the squad.
Or if one of those can now be covered by an u21 then they dynamic has changed?1 -
I'd rather have him playing for us than against us. Just the player we have been missing. Jonnie Williams on speed with goals.4

No excuses now Macca and Conor - service on a silver platter coming up0 -
gallen and bowyer clearly rate him - good enough for me.8

He has the potential to be one of the best at this level ... fingers crossedSteveKielyCambridge said:Amazing! I thought people were saying earlier he was a wrong un with a bad attitude.
Now he’s signed for us he’s a worldy!
In bows we trust!1 -
I'm somewhat concerned he may take JFC's place in the team.18

1 year deal?
I thought we were past all the silly short term deals and wanted to build for the future.0 -
Was that Maddison who didnt want a long deal thoughChris_from_Sidcup said:1 year deal?

Another opportunity to impress, either go up into the Championship with us or use us as a stepping stone to get the Championship clubs interested again next summer should we not get promoted - We have to realise with Marcus that he's not here because he loves Charlton as a club, yet same as us with him, he'll use his for his own progression
If that works to his favour this time next season then I imagine he'll have taken up that option
If on the other hand he gets a better offer from higher up the chain then at the same time dont expect him to hang around7 -
It's a smart move in my opinion.Chris_from_Sidcup said:1 year deal?

I doubt Thomas will want to be paying wages if the planning permission to re-develop The Valley comes through within 12 months...................just joking!Chris_from_Sidcup said:1 year deal?

Sounds good to me, you don't want him on a 3 year deal "if he explodes" after 3 months.
He's volatile we know that.6 -
Bit like Taylor in a way... He appears a prick on the pitch but for the time being he's our prick!!
Bet he'll still win penalties against us though!!2 -
On MM, his 2020 has been a rough ride so far. Maybe that’s exactly what he needed to bring him back down to earth.Added to that, I think working under Bowyer (who had issues of his own as a player) could really help him knuckle down and properly reach his full potential.12
-
Honestly delighted charlton have been able to sign a naughty type of player, he may well have an attitude problem but so what, I back Bowyer to get the best out of him

Can we get a title update or a thread for Maddison?0

We did get Gilbey and Washington on decent contract lengths so lets not over analyse.4

Give me Maddison over Maradona any day. Fat, coke sniffing, cheating, wanker.Covered End said:

Maddison will produce more in one game than JFC will in 20.

Not to overanalyse. I am glad it's a one year deal, if he works out for us, we get a second year. If not we can cut him loose.16
