Double Diamond had a campaign based around words made from the sounds of letters and numbers - effectively early text speak. Double Diamond being execrable, this lead to the proliferation of graffiti saying

Fry's Turkish Delight. Not very acceptable by today's standard but watching as a 7 year old child seemed quite ok

My earliest memories of TV adverts are the singing horse of the Murray Mints advert https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPq3qtDgITg, and the rippling water intro to "cool as a mountain stream" Gibbs SR toothpaste https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKuEwsEiSp8.
Both from 1955 I see, so unsurprisingly I can also recall most of the ads others have mentioned on here! (Must get something done about all these grey hairs which are inexplicably appearing in my barnet...)0 -
