What a move it had ended up for him. Champions League winner, World club cup, likely a PL winner by end of season. FaCup, Carebeo Cup, World Cup and Euro championships to come for him potentially given his age and the youngsters coming through.5

Never gonna win a League One playoff final at Wembley though is he?Athletico Charlton said:What a move it had ended up for him. Hurts to read those simple words.
But still bloody proud of Gomez.0 -
At least our and their shirts are similar.0

The game he played in the final for a 22yo CB was quite something.2

Looking comfortable enough so far tonight0
-
Liverpool have scored 500 goals under Klopp
Firminho with the 500th.0 -
They’re playing bloody well tonight.1

Probably should have scored the 500th in the first half.DaveMehmet said:They’re playing bloody well tonight.

501.
4-0 vs Leicester who've mostly been solid this season.0 -
Another good performance from Joe! Great fair crunch at the end and his passing game is really slick in this team.0
-
The clean sheets have returned and that being at the unexpected period of Fabinho being injured.0

Enjoyed Joe’s performance today against Wolves. He was by far their most assured defender and now has a great chance to cement himself into the England central defence alongside Harry Maguire5

There are a couple of Liverpool fans at work who were talking about him the other day, thought he came through their youth ranks.7

Oh dear god!! - Only time he's ever appeared for their U23 team was when he's been coming back from injuryChippycafc said:There are a couple of Liverpool fans at work who were talking about him the other day, thought he came through their youth ranks.
And thats only been limited to nine games0 -
It's fair to say Martin Keown is a fan judging by MOTD. Just think Joe needed a run of games in his best position to show what he can do again.5

Big year coming up for Joe. It’s 50/50 whether Stones or Gomez play alongside Maguire at Euros. 6 months away from being a starter for England at international tournament &premier league winner.AllHailTheHen said:It's fair to say Martin Keown is a fan judging by MOTD. Reckon Gomez is slightly ahead at the moment, he's played double the amount Stones hasSouthWest_Addicks said:

Hopefully Matip or Lovren won't automatically go back in when fit.

I don't think they will but Klopp will rotate.Ross said:Hopefully Matip or Lovren won't automatically go back in when fit.
VVD hasn't missed a League game in the last two seasons so he is unlikely to be left out until Liverpool are certain that they have won the PL (even if the rest of us know that they have done so already) but he's already played 33 games this season for Club and Country and we aren't even in January yet. TAA will be rested at times too which will probably mean Gomez (or Milner) will cover at right back.
Gomez gives them the pace that the other two lack but doesn't have quite the same aerial or physical presence Matip and Lovren possess. That said, I expect that for the CL and big PL matches Gomez will now partner VVD - I'd much rather have him marking a Messi, Ronaldo, Aguero or Rashford than the other two.1 -

To add to this, on MOTD2 Keown said that Southgate doesn't seem to want to play him, but Southgate prefers to play those who appear regularly for their club - if Gomez keeps his place then surely he makes the Euros ahead of the likes of KeaneSaySomething said:.2
