The Takeover Thread - Duchatelet Finally Sells (Jan 2020)

Wasn’t sure about posting negativity when the football side is going so well. Met an old Charlton player last night who is a mate of LB. He didn’t ask not to be named, but I think best not to. Apparently Lee isn’t getting on too well with the owner at the moment. The owners complete lack of interest as well as the fact he is rarely available is causing problems. He thinks the frustration will boil over at some stage if there is no change in attitude from Duchatelet or the club is sold. I know this is probably not ground breaking information, but I thought it worth posting. If this sale doesn’t go through we will lose Bowyer.17

Let me rephrase that for you......If the sale doesn’t go through, we MAY lose Bowyer.masicat said:Wasn’t sure about posting negativity when the football side is going so well. Where's the flag button?1 -

This is the year I began my knew life in Ireland.
And the last time I set foot in my beloved Valley.

If Off It tries to buy you lobster and pina colada, walk away.JamesSeed said:
Yes I am being fed information, but only because they're trying to buy the club, and Roland is frustrating them. And yes, you can buy me drinks all night if they buy the club :-)blackpool72 said:
James if this Aussie consortium ever buys Charlton I would love to meet you and buy you drinks all night.JamesSeed said:@AveryAddick #GetTakeoverDone
@Redmidland I honestly don't know. He's paranoid about saying anything, so getting even this much info out of him unusual. I think dealing with Roland for so long has had an attritional effect.
But I doubt it will ever happen as I think you are being fed information.
I would love to be proved 100% wrong.
Although I'd probably pass out after about three pints.3 -

And put Bowyer and his team on new long term dealsgolfaddick said:Significant investment over 3-5 years you say.
If a deal got over the line by January I would hope the first things they do are to:
Tie Taylor down to a new contract
Attempt to buy both Cullen & Gallagher.
But I'm not holding my breath.0 -
Aussie (+ US backing) attempt to buy the club is over.
Can't say which source supplied the info, but apparently RD was impossible to deal with, and they've had enough.22 -

Well it was fun whilst it lasted. Thing is in a years time I bet he was wishing he took this deal. Club will never be worth more under him than right now.2

The Reds are going up!1 -
Assuming this means the latest deal they went back with was rejected then? Roland truly is a cnut2

To be honest I've had little confidence in the whole Aussie Consortium idea anywayJamesSeed said:Aussie (+ US backing) attempt to buy the club is over.

I highly doubt we’ll be sold this season. Fans seem to have given up protesting (not a dig at CARD) and Roland is due to make a profit this season, meaning he can wait for as long as he likes for the dream deal he’s looking for1
-
And with no other prospective buyers on the horizon means we're stuck with RD for the foreseeable.
Oh happy days

To be honest I've had little confidence in Roland being able to deal properly with anyone - potential buyers, fans, managers, players...

At this stage I truly believe there’s only one way his involvement with the club will end.
Depressing stuff.0 -
If the rat does see the potential of the promised land why has he failed to tie anyone down to a LT contract/put in a bit of cash to actually get us there..cause we are close to reaching it. Guess January will tell but I'm not getting my hopes up2
