Is this the chance for the thread to go into the future?

Absolutely, Roland will still own us this time next year so the pages could be unlimited.jacob_CAFC said:Is this the chance for the thread to go into the future?

He can wait as long as he likes.........IF he still has Bowyer and Gallen.ElliotCAFC said:I highly doubt we’ll be sold this season. Fans seem to have given up protesting (not a dig at CARD) and Roland is due to make a profit this season, meaning he can wait for as long as he likes for the dream deal he’s looking for
We all know Roly hasn't got a clue and struck lucky stumbling upon the 2 of them. Once they go, it'll all fall apart.
The bloke is crazy, the club is probably as valuable now as it will ever be under his ownership. Just sell up and add a clause for another 20m or so if we get promotion.4 -
Yes, it's hard to understand why they would spend 2 years trying to buy ONE club and not look elsewhere if the problems were solely with Roland.blackpool72 said:

Aussie lawyers still working on takeover as of 4pm this afternoon.
As much as I want to hear any new development regarding Shitweasel selling the club by now I would take anything GM says with a pinch of salt.
If the Aussies were serious about buying a club they would have told Roland to fuck off about a year ago and gone out and bought one.4 -
2016, The UK votes to quit The EU, (this won't take long will it)? Also The death of music great David Bowie. Leicester City give all other sides hope as they win The Premier League by 10 points. They were 5000/1 at the start of the season.7

Same odds as the Aussies buying us then.2 -
Can you imagine the meltdown if or when Bowyer goes to Leeds?0

2025, The House of Commons votes on the 47th version of the Brexit exit bill and rejects it. The Aussie consortium still hopeful of buying us.happyvalley said:2016, The UK votes to quit The EU, (this won't take long will it)? Also The death of music great David Bowie. Doesn't really make any difference if the Aussies are out does it.2

This is good news.
Means my bid is moving up the table.
You've got my number Roland

Well James, knowing Roland and his dealings he is more likely to wake up, change his mind and accept the offer tomorrowJamesSeed said:Aussie (+ US backing) attempt to buy the club is over.
Can't say which source supplied the info, but apparently RD was impossible to deal with, and they've had enough.0 -
Contract law, so RD could sue for damages. You’d also take a reputation so hit, and others may potentially not want to deal with you if they think you’ll breach any NDA.cantersaddick said:
What's the penalty for breaking the NDA. I assumed it would be something like calling off negotiations etc. Which surely wouldn't matter if they've already backed out. Not a hell of a lot RD can do if they do break it.JamesSeed said:
NDAs don't expire after a bid has ended, whether successful or not.cantersaddick said:
Any chance, now that its all over, they can publicly give an update/their side of the story in terms of price changes etc.JamesSeed said:Aussie (+ US backing) attempt to buy the club is over.

Exactly. And every fecking time there's a new rumour I vow not to get my hopes up. I didn't think I had this time but somewhere, deep in my unconscious, a few neurons must have lit up as I feel shit.2 -

If the Aussies were serious about buying a club they would have told Roland to fuck off about a year ago and gone out and bought one. However, they were serious about buying *this* club. They found what for them was a perfect fit, and they invested a considerable sum in doing due diligence, due to problems caused by the club’s ownership history.
And for Christ’s sake, they even bought the scarves.11 -

Worse still, according to masicat, this latest outcome will result in Bowyer walking!0

I think it’s pretty clear that without a takeover RD will offer an average short term contract to bowyer again and after this season he’ll have even more interest in him than before. I don’t think there’s any large pinch of salt about it.CharltonByBlood said:

I agree with @SoundAsa£ if we lose Taylor in January because RD has not offered him a decent contract and also doesn't do something to tie down LB on a long term contract, and let's face it if ALL potential suitors have walked away he can't use that as an excuse not to anymore, then I can see more 'ambitious' owners coming in for him and offering him a kings ransom. I hope I'm wrong but we're talking about RD here, and he doesn't care for the club by any stretch of the imagination.1

This could be like the Bowyer contract un the situation. Roly goes back begging the next morning?

Club not for sale. Hope this helps.

If Roland is here next season, Bowyer won't be.
FACT*
*Speculation2 -
Think Bowyer would just love to stay and build something at Charlton. He’s said as much. Problem is his contract situation and the longer Duchatelet is owner it will become obvious that building something is meaningless to the Belgian and almost impossible for Bowyer to succeed. Still only one club at present a big danger for us losing Lee and that’s Leeds. Bielsa has to get them up this season or I think he’ll go. If they come calling then I think he’ll go.1

Foundations on sand, surely people should realise this.8
