Be interesting to see Stendel's post match interview (If there is one now) to see if he's cut up or anything

Not that I'd see why Woodrow has to lie

Its frustrating as this is the sort of incident that can really unite a team on the pitch as well when we need Barnsley losing games!!
Apparently neither club did any post match media.

    Surely Barton will be sacked?
The owner should be sacked for hiring him.
How do you sack an owner ?
I don't know but the second we find out, lets implement that.

Unfortunately that’s the risk you take when you employ someone like Barton.
We took a risk (albeit a lesser one) with Bowyer.
Is this a joke? Please tell me it is.

If not, care to explain how on earth Bows was a risk? How you can even compare him in the slightest to Barton?

We brought in Bowyer to improve the midfield, coaching once a week. He had previously worked with Watford with Kewell. He had been out the game and quiet and calmed down for a long time. When he was introduced as part of the management team, he was part of the staff working under others, now he is the main man, where and how was there a risk due to his character?

Just because he made one stupid mistake 23 years ago in a McDonalds when he was a teenager doesn’t make him a bad person, far from it, it also doesn’t make him anything like the creature that Barton is.

I think your find Lee Bowyer made at least 5 mistakes in his playing days but he isn't a Joey Barton plus he has matured since finding fish therapy.
  • I think Lee has matured as a person and everyone can hopefully learn from past mistakes. Not convinced that Joey has...
  • Interesting that Barnsley have now lodged a formal complaint with the Football League and FA

Surely they'd only do that if the Police werent going to press charges?

complete guesswork but, perhaps they've spoken with the LMA and are happy for it to go through the FA rather than the courts keeping it in the game.

Interesting that Fleetwood have said nothing and taken no action
  • Interesting that Fleetwood have said nothing and taken no action
Wonder if they're being cautious and waiting for the police outcome before taking further action

They could sack him for damaging the reputation of the club but seeing that Barton has done well there it might be a reluctant course for them to take - At the same time if it were to come to light that Barton's involvement wasnt as severe as first thought and was nothing more than handbags then there is no reason for Fleetwood to take any serious action against Barton
  • I'd dock Barnsley points for this.  Fighting in their tunnel.

About 6 points should do it.
And Sunderland for standing next to them in the league table. Guilty by association!

So the Police have spoken to witnesses and reviewed any footage, before arresting and charging him. Sounds like he is a fair bit of bother, shame.
  • Racially aggravated assault.

Throws up more questions than answers, that.

Joey Barton has mentioned that his families chip ship was bombed in the war, by the Luftwaffe and then may or may not have given him a banger and chipped his teeth, resulting in the front two teeth departing Daniel Stendhal mouth.

Joey Barton will need the legal Mr Loophole to think of a good excuse, to get him off the hook, considering their are plenty of witnesses
Don't think alcohol is even to blame this time, unless he had a hip flask.
  • I'm sure Barton will be fine, after all he's got honest upstanding members of society like Ched Evans to act as a witness

Surely attacking someone for being German isn't a racial attack anyway, seeing that the two individuals are both white caucasian?

The law talks about "racial groups".

Don't know but assume Germans come under that definition.

If you want specific previous, Barton once had an extremely aggressive Twitter beef with Didi Hamann, whose only crime seemed to be being German

    From the Barnsley forum.

I personally have no comment to make on that story and will refrain from speculation, regardless of what others are talking abart on facebook. You have to say that if he/she is found guilty and has committed repeated thuggish acts in the past then the pattern of behaviour suggests a tragic unteachability

Barging into somebody can be accidental or it can be deliberate.
If you deliberately barge somebody and they fall under a train and die would that constitute murder?
If you deliberately barge somebody and they collide with something and sustain injury would that constitute assault?
Tripping up over something would that make it an accident?
Good question, very specific and established answer.

Did you intend to kill OR cause GBH? That Is the test for intent in murder (mens rea)
