Took me 30 minutes to get into bloody iFollow, but that was worth it.

Like the last game I saw in the flesh,(Barnsley) that was a performance that had Lee Bowyer written all over it, and right at the heart of that performance was George Lapslie. Take a bow, kid.

And jeez that is still an island full of inbred numpties, as it was when i was there at Poly. And that's just the commentators.

Watched on Ifollow. Did well. Pearce immense. Steer a bit rocky at the end and rode our luck a little second half but deserved the win. It was 10 v 10 at end as Marshall was limping. Lapslie was great love his energy

What a result. Everyone played well. Bielik was immense and hope he's ok. A bit hairy at the back after he went off. And what a battling performance from Lapslie.

Only downside was the injuries to Grant, Bielik and Marshall. Hopefully Grant and Bielik going off was precautionary.

We deserved the 3 points. Up to 5th so not too shabby.

    COYR!!!

Crazy as it sounds, I fancied us tonight. We're built to beat these kinds of teams - we're fast on the break and we have commitment once we're ahead. No one could have predicted it being quite such a war though.

Sounded like a proper dig in effort. Walking wounded all over the pitch. Bodies on the line. Heads in where it hurts. Shots off the line. And a Charlton boy in the middle of the pitch covering every blade of grass. A performance in the manager's image - Bowyer will have loved it, as should all Addicks.

An away day for the ages, the Floodlit Fight of Fratton. Wish I'd been there.

Buzzin' all the way from Canada.

    Bowyer had a dream
    To build a football team
But he had no money so he had to get 'em on loan
    With Pearce at the back
    Taylor in attack
We're Charlton Athletic, we're on our way back.
  • have had to work tonight, so was unable to follow the match thread, first chance I have had to check the result is the post match views...quality! will now look back through the match thread for the highlights (goooaaall moments)!

Beating top of the league away from home is always great no matter what league. Brilliant result

I’d still rather an FAC3 game in front of a 7/8ths empty Deepdale...

Great result, wish people would stop over reacting to a bad result like Saturday. 5 wins from 6 in the league despite all the injuries and changing of the side.

    GETTT DA FUKKK INNNNNNN!!!!!!
  • Can't argue with ForeverAddickted's comments about George Lapslie.

What a performance from the kid and an amazing clearance off the line from him. He could be a star if he carries on like that.

Lock him up before Douchbag packs him off to Brentford or someone similar in January.

Watched on iFollow .... Best half of football that I’ve seen from a Charlton team in a long time. Portsmouth were dead and buried in the first half. We just didn’t let them have any time or space. They came at us in waves in the second half but we stood firm. Outstanding performances from Beliek and Lapo. The back four weren’t bad either. Picked up a couple of injuries. Just hope they’re fit for the weekend. Up the Addicks ....

Don’t know how they are in first place
  • Didnt watch it - but were Pompey a bunch of cloggers?

Because its a poor league, just look at how high we are with such a injury hit squad

Its almost a case of the three that go up are the ones that can find any kind of consistency
  • Gargantuan result.

You don’t have to be incredible to win this league. Just consistent and have a bit of luck.

I think if every team plays at their absolute peak we’re a top 3 or 4 side in this division. Our problem hasn’t been competing with the ‘big boys’ but rather dropping points against some absolutely bang average sides

Still think it’s playoffs, but I’m sure we’re in a much better place for them this year.

Would have gladly taken 2 points from Blackpool and Pompey away so well pleased with bagging all 3 tonight.

Don't know how we're not in first place.

(That's post-win euphoria for you).
