May - 'Does this house want to deliver Brexit'
SNP MPs - 'Noooooooooooooooo'
Love it.6 -
TBF they do that a lot.Fiiish said:Oh dear. The Commons is openly laughing, quite loudly, at this deranged woman's delusional statements.
But she's not having an easy time at all, which is good and a strength of our democracy.
Her key point is valid though. There has to be a backstop and if other MPs don't like that then they need to present an alternative plan and to accept the limitations of any such plan be that remain, her deal or no deal.1 -
So we're not allowed a second referendum but May is allowed to postpone a vote she knows she's going to lose? Makes sense.2

I don't need your approval and nor do I seek it. It's irrelevant.Chizz said:
It doesn't. But you're increasingly doing so.Henry Irving said:

Go away. You're getting as tiresome as the other troll on here.Henry Irving said:

I'm not disallowing criticism of Corbyn or of any other figure important to the issue of Brexit. I'm not in a position to do so.Henry Irving said:
Not fixated and not trolling thanks. Seems you are the one fixated on not allowing any criticism of him on this thread.Chizz said:
If you can point out where I've pretended he's a really nice man, I'll happily post a correction.Henry Irving said:
Yep, that's me. Consistently calling our Corbyn on his pro-Brexit stance and his support for dictators and terrorists. And it ain't going to stop so carry on ignoring the problem and pretending he's really a nice man who is going to stop Brexit and is going to stop the rampant antisemitism in the labour party.Chizz said:
I guess the same people that thought Henry would be on here in a minute, mentioning Corbyn and not Brexit. Again.Henry Irving said:
Who would have thought that Milne, the brains behind the idiot Corbyn, was dodgy or that Leuth is so desperate to be right that he's wrong again.kentaddick said:
Just to pick this back up, it seems this was a result of a russian hack, an interesting thread from the incredible Carole CadwalladrLeuth said:
I think you're falling into the trap of assuming someone supports Corbyn when, in fact, they're just tired of endless trolling by someone who seems utterly fixated with him.
Corbyn doesn't support May's current version of Brexit. That's a good thing. But he's presenting an unclear "different" version. That's a bad thing. That's about all that's important about him in particular with respect to Brexit.
But carry on throwing around the insults and so pretending that it doesn't matter that the holder of one of the major positions in British politics ie the so called "leader" of the opposition is lying about his stance on Brexit and is a friend to dictators and terrorists.
But it would be great if your non-Brexit related Corbyn tropes could be kept to other threads where they're easier to ignore. Pretty please.
Sorry, not going to happen. (not actually sorry)
You AND the cult.
Not you are part of the cult.
You know, the cult of the friend of terrorists who you decided mustn't be mentioned on this thread despite that cult leader being the so called "leader" of the opposition.
But unsurprisingly, despite claiming that you don't think Corbyn's failings should be debated on a thread about the most important political topic for a generation, you've mentioned it again. Maybe your motives aren't as honest as you a trying to make them out.
I really, really don't care if you find me tiresome. I find racism and support of terrorism abhorrent and will continue to challenge it on here and elsewhere whether it bores you or not.
But, as you will. Carry on. Fill your boots. Continue to imply I'm dishonest if you must. But it would be great if you left this Brexit thread to those posts that concern Brexit, not individuals' projections and campaigns.
That's all from me on this point.0 -
After two years in which young Theresa is supposed to have been preparing to take her A Levels, she's told the school that she's sure that she will not pass, so has decided that tomorrow's exam should be cancelled and that she'll be going to talk to the examining board to ask them to change some of the questions.5

The Spanish will be happy to be given time to try and move Gibraltar under their wing in a new round of negotiations, and I'm told the French want some more stuff condidered too. This is a bit like a bubble under wallpaper - when you press it down it just pops up elsewhere. Farage Gove and Johnson have spent ages telling anyone prepared to listen that it will be possible to have a negotiation in which the EU surrender on every point while we cede nothing, and they pointlessly judge May on those terms. It ain't gonna happen.2

I’m astonished that she thinks that’s acceptable - “my deal would lose this vote, so I’m going to keep the country in limbo longer and use up more of the now precious time we have before a “no deal” to allow me to try and sell this appalling deal”.Henry Irving said:May speaking in the house now.
She is saying deal would be rejected so vote is deferred.4 -

I think Bowyer should try this trick next time he thinks we might lose a game. Just postpone it. Simple.7

Corbyn up
Saying May "must make way"
Not clear, as he didn't say, how he wants this to happen.

On the negative side: we postpone the vital task of narrowing down the available options
On the plus side: we will find out whether the EU are telling the truth when they say they are not prepared to negotiate further.2 -

I like the way Bercow is introducing MPs. All that's missing is entrance music.0

I think she said it was 'deferred'. Still unclear on how this process is actually going to go forward.Chizz said:

Brexit means Brexit. Oh, and no deal is better than a bad deal. Apparently.Chizz said:

I don’t think a no confidence vote will pass - it would take us closer to a general election which means Tories potentially losing their seats so I can’t see that being a starter and, honestly, it just feels like another distraction that we don’t have time for.0
