What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.

I don't like it any more than you men.

I'm not a man and I don't know what to think

The squad is paper thin, one or two injuries away from relaying on the likes of Lapsile, who isn’t ready for prime time.

We’re a week away from the close of the transfer window (yes I know about loans) and we started the season unable to name 7 on the bench.

We are in a fucking terrible state as a club, and no sign it’ll get better.

    Lapslie played well yesterday.

Not an excuse for the pathetic transfer dealings this summer, but in Fosu, Reeves, Clarke and Igor we are missing a lot of players from our team at the moment. To use the cliche, when a couple of them return in say October, it will be like a new signing...
Would you ever play more than 2 of them in the same team?
You don't win anything with kids....where have I heard that before?
You certainly don't win anything with kids that have been sold.

Oddly, the day the transfer window closes is still available on the prediction thread
Perhaps Thursday, or Friday, post window, could be key?

We practice selective discreditation of posters and local journalists,
For example, to create a vacuum.
    Then we fill that vacuum.
    As popular thought fragments,
    The takeover collapse is closer

We’re likely to get relegated, and yet we’re back to my source is better then your source.

We are not about to get relegated.
    Get a grip.
we may well be if our manager decides to play the next 45 games with just the 11 players he picks to start & only changes it when there is an injury, even though he clearly stated just days before that both Pratley & Taylor would probably not feature as they were not fit.
So you want us to change our manager, but if he does stay he should listen to you, like we will have to, for the next 45 games
I don't believe that I did. Just that LB should stop saying things in public about getting promotion, fielding 5 subs & then only playing one of them when everybody could see it needing changing up.

As a golfer I am only allowed 14 clubs in my bag. I could go out with less but ALL professional golfers carry the maximum as you never know what club you will need. Pro's carry a number of wedges - they would look pretty stupid breaking their sand wedge on the 12th hole & not having another wedge that they could use in an emergency & having to use a 7 iron instead.
So LB should say in public, we cant get promotion, we are not good enough, that would be a good message for the players and the supporters, knowing how Lee was as a player, he will try to go out and win every match and that is the way it should be
ffs.....just read what I said in the first line of my post. In public. To the press. What he says to the players during training is another matter. I would expect him to tell them to do their best, that he had faith in them & if they play as a team then who knows.

Seriously, if I was one of the players at the moment & LB said we were good enough for a top 2 spot I'd wonder if he was on the waccy baccy again. I'm sure they look around themselves during training & wonder where half their team mates are. From last season we are missing the 5 loanees plus Kashi, Konsa, Lennon & Magennis. Added to that we have Clarke, Fosu, Reeves & JFC injured & Dijikstel off sick. Thats 14 players......and all we have added is 2.

    So my theory number 16.

RD wants to save face i.e. avoid the possibility of new owners immediately getting the club promoted (something he wasn't able to do). So delays the sale until it is very hard for the new owners to muster a campaign that gets us promoted. That way he can say in his warped little world - " See they couldn't find success either"

Buried in this theory is a skerrick of optimism...optimism that sale is imminent.

Why would you buy it as soon as the transfer window shuts, might as well tell him to stick it and come back in november/December and save yourself £3/4m in running cost?

Would you buy a holiday property in September if you knew you could by it for the same price just before next summers peak season?

If it was in desperate need of redecorating, the plumbing and electricity needed to be sorted out and the roof was leaking, why would you leave it until the start of the holiday season, when it would be worse, instead of starting remedial work as soon as possible?

Like the word skerrick, never heard it before, but sounds just right (especially in antipodean accents).

    skerrick
    noun AUSTRALIAN/NZ informal
    the smallest bit.

Because you have a long term plan and can start implementing other things that could help - changes on the scouting or medical side for example.

I don’t think so, I genuinely don’t believe Roland thinks about us enough to particularly care which division we’re in after he owns us.

I agree. Nobody can read the mind of this strange individual, many Belgian journalists and others have tried, but my best guess is that his goal is to show a select group of other rich Benelux businessmen that he can make money from football, when others failed. Him, not the business that owns the club, not Staprix. He made a profit on his ownership at Standard, (partly b taking a "dividend' which emptied the bank account) and now seeks to do it here by extracting an absurd sale price. What happens to the clubs on the pitch is of no concern to him.

    Roland Out Today.

Thought I read somewhere @PragueAddick that ROT had posted something through the door of his (RDs) flat. Assuming if wasn't a turd, was it ROT canvassing material? any ideas?

But if money was a little tight it would certainly help if they bought the club in say mid November to save themselves a couple of million
  • Unless there was an article I've missed, there were no "quotes by Harris" in the SLP. Indeed no evidence to connect him with the Auzzie bid, merely unnamed investors.

The situation is ongoing. Price is agreed, the deal has stalled as there is a hole in the funds the aussies need to fund the club going forwards. The deal hasn't collapsed but won't complete until this hole has been filled by new investors.

We can all read this thread thanks
