If they hold all the aces then they are playing a very bad hand imo. Season starts in 5 days time & transfer window shuts in 10 days time. Roland is selling players for peanuts & as it stands our front line on Saturday will be a player loaned out last season & the other a youngster who hasn't scored a league goal in his career. If they are playing "the long game" then someone had better tell them that it has taken us 3 years (and counting) to get out of this league.......it will take a damn sight longer than 5 to even get into the Championship from league 2.Taxi_Lad said:I have no inside info but my guess is that the Aussies are holding up the deal and who can blame them. RD must want rid, he’s losing money month by month and will struggle to get another offer anywhere near this one. The Aussies hold all the aces IMO
As for the delay causing the Aussies grief, I believe @JamesSeed previously mentioned that GM told him that they weren’t bothered as they are in for the long haul
As I said last week, I don't who is worse.......Roland or the Aussies.3 -

Why takeover at Christmas takeover late next summer and save another £8m and maybe a price reduction or wait till Christmas 2019 and save more ad finitum and before long you will have saved gazillions and that ladies and gentlemen is straight from Napa Addicks book of how to make money from footballBigRedEvil said:Firmly believe the deal is dead, why takeover this close to the season with no chance to shape the squad? Save £4m in running costs and do a deal nearer Christmas

See Joe Aribo states on the official website that "promotion is the main aim." Think he may be reappraising his objectives come December.1

OK, maybe not swagger, but the confidence your friends will be running the club has all but disappeared.JamesSeed said:

Every day that goes by Roland loses more money. We don't have enough assets for him to keep covering his losses.
He'll sell up when he doesn't want to lose anymore.1 - Sponsored links:

Anyway.
It amazes me that he pays a COO a whacking great salary and a car when all the guy does is mismanage, alienate, and make a few manky sandwiches.
Why save money on the leccy which is needed, and pay money to Keohane who isn't needed?
As a re-release I would like to challenge Keohane to allow me to job shadow him for a week, I understand you read this stuff Tone, I will supply my own stopwatch and notebook, and promise a full report back here on CL.
All I ask is to access all areas fnarr fnarr.4 -
I look forward to your report on the meeting re: ‘how to steward matches where there’s a protest’.1

They must have known the club is for sale for ages but have only just shown interest so not really committed.
They have not proved they have got any money either so most likely haven't got any.
New unknown owners out.40 -
I have said it before, if I was looking at a long term project, with an investment of say £200 over 5 years, I would value the current playing squad at zero. That was before we sold konsa.
If the assuies were happy to wait, as they were in it for the long hall, I assume they feel the same. I would also like to think they have an ex manager, scout or agent on a retainer who has a number of transfers lined up to go on completion?
But saying all that I wouldn't buy a destressed football club less than 2 months before the start of the season. This should have been done in May or not until December.0 -
Yes, and you wonder if the Aussies haven't accidentally done a lot of the legal work for them?Airman Brown said:

And one thing about the Aussies is that theirs is a plan based on sporting interest, it remains to be seen what the new bidders are after.3 -

We need metrics to see how they compare. Can they get a deal over the line before 3.7 million views, 34.2 thousand comments and 1142 pages of intellectual opinion has taken place?7
