See the comments about the Aussies are what I alluded to early last week
The Aussies whether they realise it or not are in grave danger of losing a % of the supporters before they get off the ground or even if they get off
Shame as although I have been questioning and critical of their money status and I hated the PR about the fans I think they were worthy of a good innings to get it right
But they are in danger here if an own goal
Easy to win back, just spend a few hundred million on players in January.

I have no inside info but my guess is that the Aussies are holding up the deal and who can blame them. RD must want rid, he’s losing money month by month and will struggle to get another offer anywhere near this one. The Aussies hold all the aces IMO As for the delay causing the Aussies grief, I believe @JamesSeed previously mentioned that GM told him that they weren’t bothered as they are in for the long haul

A big Yann or Bent signing would fix this almost instantly. (Pipedream I know but it still would be)
Also the Not Roland factor will be important and will overcome the Aussie dislikes ( they haven't even taken over yet a people are already treating th like Roland. Crikey, give them a chance. From what we've heard they want to do good, and undo all the Roland
I have no doubt that the Aussies are doing their best to try and get this sorted. The quietness recently just adds to the frustrations.
Still plenty of time for them to get in and make their mark.
I think it’s been dead in the water for a very long time . Even if by some miracle the Aussies do take over my confidence in them is very low because of the balls up of trying to get this deal over the line . They obviously don’t have the financial clout to buy a club and that’s really worrying .
I'm glad someone's in the know. Please can you explain their balls up ?
Taking at least six months to get it over the line for starters . Their next balls up is not walking away .
Excellent. So please can you explain what's going on then & why it's the Aussies fault, because no one else can ?
I haven’t a clue - exactly the same as everyone else .
Thank-you I agree. So I presume you retract your blaming the Aussies ?
"Even if by some miracle the Aussies do take over my confidence in them is very low because of the balls up of trying to get this deal over the line . They obviously don’t have the financial clout to buy a club and that’s really worrying ."
Nope. No retraction . It’s my opinion which isn’t based on any facts whatsoever other than this sorry takeover charade has sucked out any enthusiasm I have for this club and if it’s not their fault it’s dragged on so long why are they still involved ? Most businesses / Consortiums would have run a mile a very long time ago . My personal opinion , again based on no information whatsoever , is that they don’t have the money because money talks and the deal would have been done by now if they had the funds .
Personally, I think it's a bit foolish to base your opinion on nothing but guesswork. But each to their own. I'll wait for some factual information, before I form a considered opinion. Yes I have loads of theories, but not enough to blame any one party for the latest delay. Obviously RD could have sold up ages ago, if he really wanted to at a lower price.
This whole thread is based on guesswork !
Exactly, which is why we should have an open mind as to what is causing the latest delay and not be blaming someone with no proof.
I agree, but the same logic applies when people come out and state that the takeover delays are all the fault of Roland, and nothing to do with the Aussies, as we have no proof of that either.
Roland has a very very bad track record of dicking around with football clubs. STVV, Standard, ourselves and more.
By contrast, with the Aussies we have pretty nothing to off in a sporting sense.
Yes it could technically be either side's fault but come on... you do know what Roland is like, don't you? It's like a new kid getting into a fight at a school with a known troublemaker and everyone blaming the new kid for starting it. (I tried to think of a house analogy but couldn't come up with one)

If they hold all the aces then they are playing a very bad hand imo. Season starts in 5 days time & transfer window shuts in 10 days time. Roland is selling players for peanuts & as it stands our front line on Saturday will be a player loaned out last season & the other a youngster who hasn't scored a league goal in his career. If they are playing "the long game" then someone had better tell them that it has taken us 3 years (and counting) to get out of this league.......it will take a damn sight longer than 5 to even get into the Championship from league 2.
As I said last week, I don't who is worse.......Roland or the Aussies.

Well, let me help. One has fucked up the club for four years and the others bought a scarf in the shop.

My dear departed Mum always said, 'Where there's a will, there's a way'. It seems after two years of trying the Aussies haven't found a way, makes you wonder if they've got the will.
(Not ITK, based entirely in what my old Mum would've thought).
Yep it has gotten more and more zabeel like every passing week I expect announcement to be made after the Sunderland game saying that RD is staying and the deals off
I agree.
I'm so sure it's not happening before the start of the season that I'll have the ROT logo tattooed on my arse if it does.
Will you take a picture to prove it, if it does happen
So sure that it won't happen that I'll publically unveil it in Crossbars.
Maybe I’ve misread this, but are you really sure you want to do that hanging from the crossbar in front of a packed covered end?
I've been in Turkey for the past week so just catching up with this thread. Nothing appears to be happening and the new season is upon us. How depressing.

Wow Airman I think that's the first time I've seen you swear ;-), you must be pissed off with all this crap going on.

The fact that they’ve been working on it for so long would indicate that they’ve got the will. As far as the way goes, it’s not over yet. I’m still hopeful, I can feel it in my bones as my grandmother used to say, bless her.
I have a theory about the "difficult two weeks"...
It's all been agreed. (The terms are irrelevant.) Roland has told the Aussies to give him until the beginning of the season, to make as much cash as he can, and then the Aussies take over with a clean slate.
It explains the "diificult", as Roland sells as much of the assets as he can get his mitts on, and explains the "two weeks", as that would take us to the beginning of the season.
It also gives the Aussies a week before the transfer window closes to try to pull a rabbit out of the hat...

You better get saddled up Red Henry, and bring that big bag of dirty dubai dollars with ya!
Coincidentally the name of an excellent album by the Spans
Only to have it questioned
