My question about the leasing the training ground rumour is who is going to invest the required £8m to £10m to bring it up to standard?
A tennant who doesn't own it?
A landlord who doesn't use it and who pulled the plug on it years ago?
The Valley would need maintenance but not to the same extent as Sparrows Lane, which needs major construction.

Their OS says they’ll invest heavily in the training facilities. Would be strange to do if they didn’t own it.Henry Irving said:My question about the leasing the training ground rumour is who is going to invest the required £8m to £10m to bring it up to standard?

Buying Charlton from a man in Brussels
He was five-foot-ten and full of mussels
I said, "do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a leasehold agreement
And he said
You come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover, yeah
Because "You're out"8 -
Roly has misunderstood what 'Target 10,000' was all about, that's all...The Red Robin said:Getting ready for the next 1,000.

Exactly. Neither side is likely to make a heavy capital investment so the players remain eating in a portacabinScoham said:

Can I just say that I am really not bothered if this thread gets to 1000 pages.2
-
It's a shame really that as the thread approaches it's big number all of the posts will just be inane drivel like this one, as opposed to the portentous drivel of earlier times.0
-
Today's the day.........that we either hit 1000 pages or AFKA closes the thread.0
-
Wouldn't it be funny if the admins closed this thread on 999 pages and 30 posts.0
-
Crack on please I'm going to be otherwise engaged in 45 mins until lunchtime and don't want to miss the popping of corks / site meltdown
